He missed our lesson today which has literally never happened.

Ezra... [ A small pause. ] How have you been, really? I know I was gone all that time; I haven't been here much for you, either. I'm sorry.

It's fine. I'm fine.You don't- you don't have to be sorry. But back home, Kanan's practically been gone for six months. And I know when I go back, he'll actually be gone. This isn't any different from that.

It is different. Here, there's a higher probability that he'll come back. There's always hope.

No offense, Leia, but I'm not wasting my time here just hoping for him to come back. It's for the best if I continue with my training, the same way I was doing. Otherwise I'd spend every day thinking about what if.

I’m not saying you sit and twiddle your thumbs in waiting, Ezra. Continue with your training. He’ll be no doubt pleased to hear and know, when he returns, that you didn’t sit idle.

From what I can tell, he wasn't pleased the last time.

Even he and I don’t see eye to eye, when it comes to training. I highly doubt he—or anyone—would approve of me turning to Kylo for my training. [ This was the first of her telling anyone. ]

Kanan wants you to train strictly under the Jedi code?

[merging]

Wait, you've been training with Kylo too?!

[articulations]

It hasn’t been much. I was gone all those weeks. But I’m sure we’ll continue. When did you begin your training..?

[merging]

After I found out about Kanan. I thought if I was stronger I could...

You could stop it from happening.

[ She sighs but it isn't in disappointment that he's still thinking this way. It's because she can understand where he's coming from; if she could become stronger, go back through the Force and stop certain events from happening, they wouldn't suffer for as long as they have with the war. ]

Yeah. I mean, that's the reason I started using the Sith holocron too. And why I started training as a Jedi, even. I want to be strong enough to save everyone. And then there's the whole thing where Luke has never met me, no one in the future really knows me or what happened to me which is! Great!

[articulations]

At the time where I first met you and Kanan, I had no idea of Luke's existent. That was a very different time from now. [ She frowns; he's right, absolutely no one knows about him and his whereabouts. ] I'm sorry, Ezra.
