[Video] 003 - Beach Party (Backdated to June 6th)
[ The feed starts and Ruby is in front of a beach, and for once not wearing a long-sleeved shirt under another shirt. This time she’s clearly holding the communicator, based on how its movement isn’t all that steady. ]
Hey, so. I’m hosting an open event here at a beach in Florida on Saturday, starting about 3PM. While it’s mostly aimed at young imPorts, but I’m not going to turn anyone away unless they cause trouble. Adults who want to help keep an eye on things are perfectly welcome, too. I’ll put the address and directions on how to get here from the porter. It’s a short drive here, and if you can’t afford the cost of a taxi just let me know and I’ll foot the bill as long as the drive is from Heropa. If you get a taxi to drive you all the way from Nonah, you’re going to have to pay it yourself. [ She laughs a little, thinking the idea funny enough. ]
There’s going to be hot food courtesy of our own Tina Belcher, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I’ll be making sure that there are a lot of chips, juices, and soda, as well as a few other snack foods. S’mores later in the night. Anyone who wants to add to the tables is welcome to. We can always use food that won’t spoil, and if you mark your name and address on the bottom of the container you bring we’ll be able to make sure to get the container back to you if you forget it.
Other events include some beach volleyball, water fights including balloons and water guns, and a bonfire a little before dark. There will also be music, mostly from a local radio station since I personally have no idea what I’d be able to put on a mixtape. Naturally, you’re more than welcome to come and just swim in the water, or sunbathe on the beach.
I got permission to use this beach, so it’s all good and ready to go. All the owners wanted in return was for us to clean up after ourselves and keep any bonfires in the designated area. You should be aware that they didn’t ask for money in return, so there’s a chance they might take photos. I talked to Archie, and he'll do what he can to make sure that doesn't happen though. He's also going to be our lifeguard on duty.
The only thing I ask in return is that you guys do your best to not cause trouble. No drugs or alcohol, even if you’re of age. If you want to fight each other, don’t do it at the party. Generally, just don’t cause trouble that will make it harder for future young imPort meetings to get venues.
