The hour is late and prime for introspection of a somber nature. Perhaps some of you awake will be keen on entertaining a question or two in that vein to pass the hours. I may yet be too young and naive to even presume to ask, but then...no one is being forced to answer me, either.

I assume many among us found themselves here in the midst of or proceeding important events -- the sort of which may be quite excruciating or merely troublesome to be interrupted. Yet for most, the days come and go -- many, many sunrises and sunsets, idle hours and chaotic seconds aplenty.

At what point did you give up on the dreams deferred by your untimely arrival in this realm? Or, if you still cling true to them, what is your breaking point? Do you know how long you're willing to cling to that which you cannot return to of your own will?

Perhaps it's the other way around, though: Those who had no hope which to speak of then...when did you begin to hold and pursue dreams in this world? Have you even begun?

No, I wouldn't call it a tragedy.

He deserved that death. And we deserve a world without him in it.

A downfall might be right.

It was the guy who tried taking over the moon's military base, if you were here for it. Temporarily enslaved people, and used them to hold others hostage.

Fewer civilian casualties.

Well, I doubt other people think of it that way.

[ But she also doubts other people think at all, sometimes, so. ]

Danger follows us. We have enemies among the peoples of this world; some of those brought here become enemies of this world. No matter what, where we are, there will be conflict. If we were to all spread out, with no connection to one another, I'm certain all of us would face terrible calamity.

If we manage to pull those inevitable conflicts into the places where civilians do not go, then it's better than letting them suffer so much more, because of us.

Not all the dangers are ones they must go to, like swear-ins and beach-parties. Sometimes the danger comes to where they live. The places they cherish.

They're human. They'll never have an easy time, abandoning what they love.

I suppose it's not.

You don't have to apologize to me. Most of my conversations go like this, too.

I only meant it in that, I'm only human; I can only speak for humans, in a case like this. I can't presume to know the hearts of peoples I *don't* know.
