[When the video starts, Anders is in the park, and he looks confused and a little worried. He's also holding something off screen.]

So, um... I was taking the little ones out, and then they stopped to sniff what I thought was just a rock. It wasn't, it was one of those crystals that fell from the sky. And now, well...

[Anders tilts the camera, to show two cats on leashes floating in midair. They don't seem at all bothered, and are mostly just looking around now that they have a bird's eye view.]

I'm afraid to let go of the leashes.

[now, this is interesting. archie's heard of those crystals affecting animals and giving them powers-- hell, he's seen the direct effects. no floating like this, though. it's... cute, almost. not too dangerous.]

Take them home and get 'em inside, at least. First off. Where was the crystal?

You're right. Don't let go. You don't want them to get lost. Or to get at the birds.

[He points his device at a patch of dandelions, a white crystal laying amidst the plants.]

We're near the duck pond.

I'm just going to get them home and make sure the windows are closed.

[Thankfully, his cats float alongside him as he walks.]

Do you have some kind of spell that can contain it or stop anythin' going near it? It could affect the ducks.

Or worse, the swans.

[Anders has in fact seen an angry swan. He'd rather not see a swan get some kind of super powers from this thing.]

I could cast a repel glyph on it, that might keep anything away from it.

[In the background, the two cats bat at each other while still floating.]

[he's about to hang up, but something occurs to him:] Do they mind being in crates? I can get some, to help take them home in and until this wears off.

It's a good thing they land on their feet. There's no telling when strange stuff will end.

Prince Honeysuckle doesn't mind by now, but I'm still getting Queen Blossom adjusted to being in a crate.

[Anders wraps the leashes around his wrist, then he props up his device on a nearby bench so he can unstrap his staff from his back and cast a small glyph around the crystal. Once he's finished, he puts his staff away and picks the device back up.]

[the names make him smile-- archie's never had much of an imagination for nicknaming his pokémon. or at least... finding one his team would actually accept. maybe they would like names like that...]

She'll have to just get used to it. Maybe if you're there she'll stay calm.

[he watches what he can see of the display of the spell, interested.]

I'll be there soon, [he says, and cuts the connection, finally.]

[Anders will be sitting on a nearby bench. The orange tabby is still floating around, while the Scottish fold has decided to sit down next to her human.]

Let's just hope it wears off before they decide to take full advantage of their new powers.

[The orange tabby suddenly deposits himself onto Anders' shoulder, just draping himself down his human.]

[it doesn't take him long to show up-- mindful to return his pokémon before he gets close to the cats. don't want to spook them, after all. aside from his usual attire of a hoodie and jeans, he has a pair of ski gloves on. not a fan of mind-altering crystals, thank you.]

Can you cancel the spell so I can get to it?

It'll wear off in just a minute, I promise.

[The tabby floats a little closer to Archie, ever the curious one. He points to the patch of dandelions where the crystal's currently lying, surrounded by a glowing green glyph. It should wear off in just a moment, as Anders promises.]

The crystal's over there.

[archie gives it a little pat, but-- work at hand. as much as he'd rather sit with the cats. ugh.]

Got it. [he stops just outside the limit of the green, waiting for it to wear off, staring intently at the crystal.] ...Let's hope them cats don't have any other side effects.

[Prince Honeysuckle looks like he'd like more petting, and follows Archie for a bit, but the leash doesn't go that far.]

So far they haven't shown any besides flight.

[The glyph finally vanishes, allowing Archie to get near the crystal.

Anders takes out a small barber's comb to tidy up Queen Blossom a little, only for the teeth to break off as he runs it across her fur. Anders holds up the comb with a look of utter confusion.]

With the windows shut, they should be okay.   Cats are smart; they..

[She stops talking and chuckles when the cat lands on Anders.]

Guess he got tired of flying.

Guess he did.

[The cat nuzzles Anders' chin, liking the feel of his stubble. A flash of grey suddenly zooms past Anders, towards the sidewalk, and a loud crack is heard. Anders' eyes widen and he looks down.]

What the?

[Anders points his device down, showing his other cat on the sidewalk, and there's a large crack in the concrete under her paws, where she landed. There's also a grasshopper she was no doubt aiming for. With a bat of her paw, she sends it flying.]

Andraste's knickerweasles!

[One of his cats, the grey Scottish Fold, floats down so she's level with the camera, looking at the screen curiously.]

[He grins and waggles his fingers at the cat. Hard to say whether it'll be able to see much of it on its end, though.]

[He points the device at the orange tabby still floating.]

And this is Prince Honeysuckle.

[he's busy with the crystal for a short time, looking vaguely annoyed when he turns back with it secured.]

Can you get those cats out of here? These are radioactive!

[rebelhealer]

Okay, okay, I'm on it.

[Anders picks up Queen Blossom and guides Prince Honeysuckle away from the rock, towards the crates. The tabby gets in easily enough, as promised. The Scottish fold, as predicted, needed some convincing.]

Come on, girl, it's just for a short while.

Good. Last thing I want is them to have lasting effects. Radiation ain't good to flesh things. Us? We can deal with it. Them? They don't get what's happenin'.

[he holds the container to his chest until the fold is in the crate. not like they'll protect it, but at least it'll stop the cat bolting forward towards it, or something.]
