[Eve pops into view a little too close to the video and then backs up.]

Hi, oh this is the first time I'm using one of these, I hope this is okay. I'm Eve, I'm really new!

[She's nervous, she's never nervous. So she stops being nervous and fluffs out her hair, smiling warmly.]

So I wonder how many people here didn't have special abilities before they came here? And, um, how did you learn how to use them? I feel like I should learn, but I don't think I want to be a superhero or anything, just know enough of how to keep from accidentally using them. Where should I go?

Well money didn't exist when I was alive, and I've been in Heaven for the past five thousand-ish years? And then I lived with Lucifer in his penthouse and he bought me everything. [She makes a face.] In hindsight I probably shouldn't have just assumed my boyfriend would pay.

( Okay, not what she had been expecting the response to be. Her surprise shows on her expression. )

Whoa...really? You're not making all that up?

Nope! [Eve shrugs.] I know it's hard for people to believe, but if you think about it, sometimes myths are as real as history books. And mine just so happens to be true. [She wiggles her fingers.] I'm Eve. The mother of humanity.

I mean, I'm a mermaid, so I'm really in no place to question the validity of your story, yeah?

( She laughs a little, shrugging herself. It's true. )

Like from the Bible, Eve? Eve, the original sinner so they say? I always thought that was crap, by the way, she was totally tricked and her punishment for it was way overboard.

( She's not so good at the thinking before speaking and brain-to-mouth filter. Sorry. )

[She siiiiighs.] Yes, they still call me that. Sometimes I do too, for fun, because why not own it, you know? [Eh. Eve smiles at her almost defense of the concept of herself.] God was really unforgiving and angry in the start. After how he treated his own son Lucifer, it isn't that surprising he'd have less sympathy for us mortals.

Yeah, well I didn't take any apples and I still have my period and it'll still hurt when I have babies someday, so I'd say he went a bit overboard, yeah?

( Rikki thinks girls ought to stick together, after all. )

Anyway, I don't think what you did was that bad if what the Bible says is accurate, anyway, for whatever that's worth.

[Eve winces.] Honestly ... I'm not entirely certain how much of it was his plan from the start and this just provided him with a good opportunity. We've maintained a fine relationship in Heaven, but he always wanted us to multiply, so maybe the pain had originally been optional. [She shrugs.] I appreciate that though. I can't say I'm sorry things changed or that I ultimately regret any of it.

Was it at least delicious? The apple?

( Rikki smiles a little, about as close to offering levity as she can manage because she's not altogether good at this sort of thing. She's the type that goes for a joke when things tip toward potentially uncomfortable. )

Because if it was a good apple, then there you go. No judgment here, mate.

[thetrueeve]

[Eve smiles and chuckles.] Welllllll. [This is funny for those involved.] It was sort of a metaphoric apple in my case. The fruit of knowledge came from the same place the temptation did, Lucifer.

So then no? Come on, Eve, you've gotta help me out, here. I'm trying to throw you a bone.

( She's laughing, though, because how can she not? This conversation is ridiculous from all sides, including her own. )

[thetrueeve]

[She giggles.] Oh it was a very delicious and good apple. [Wagging of eyebrows]

That's better. All right then, it's fine, in that case.

[thetrueeve]

It was more about me not doing what I was told for once than anything else. Lucifer is the original you can't tell me what to do, Dad! person, so he just tried to get me to do the same.

Boys.

( She rolls her eyes a little, but then grins. )

[thetrueeve]

[Eve laughs.] Boys, for sure. I don't really regret it, even if it led to some bad things. [She gets a little more serious.] It was the first time I ever thought for myself.

It's a good feeling, I'm glad you know it now.

I do. It's exciting. Scary, too, but exciting!
