πππππ βΈ VIDEO, sometime after the monster is killed.
[ The video blips to life to showcase the familiar interior of Residence #001 in Maurtia Falls, a place some might recognized as Magnus's house if they've been there before. The camera shakes a little, the view of the living room growing distant as someone walks into the kitchen instead. Once the feed stops shaking about and is settled atop the dinner table, Sabrina plops down before it so she's in full view.
She looks different, naturally. Her blond curls now a peculiar shade of platinum and wearing vibrant red lipstick, a stark contrast to her black outfit. For those who pay sharp attention to details, she does look a touch older, as if it's been a few months for a teenager still maturing into her features.
It has, for her anyway. ]
Clearly a lot has happened while I was away. I thought blood loss might have made me hallucinate things, but did I seriously see some sort of Blob-esque monster on the news in De Chima? The reporters said it's gone, but... what the hell happened?
[ Hell's bells, this place.
She clears her throat right after, setting her hands on the table now. ]
Before that though, I need to apologize to those who had a run-in with someone that ran around posing as me a couple of weeks ago. From what I heard, she hurt a few people and caused a lot of trouble for others. I don't know what spells she tried to cast on others, but I'm so sorry that happened in the first place. If I had had my magic...
[ Sabrina's jaw clenches for a moment. ]
If there's anything I can do, I want to make it up to you.

Sabrina-- ( her surroundings are a library, ms. wardwell's voice full of relief at seeing her student again )
It is very good to see you again. Are you alright? You--
( but she pauses, as if not certain that she can say it )

[ That alone gives Lilith some information on where Sabrina is on the timeline.
The young girl beams at her, ecstatic to see her once more. Truth be told, there had been no way for her to know if she would ever see her favourite teacher here again. ]
I'm fine, don't worry. What about you? Have you avoided that thing in De Chima?
no subject
( and also completely changed up her life )
What happened to you, Sabrina?
no subject
I went home. I ended up back to where I was before I was ported to this world... to the night of the Thirteen coming.
A lot has happened. I need to tell you.
no subject
( and if sabrina remembers their last conversation she'll at least have lived it )
But not like this. Conversations such as these require a more private setting.

[And he barely knows her, so.]
Now why would someone want to pose as you?
video
[ An exasperated sigh. ]
It's a long story, but she's a Mandrake plant. The weird thing is I haven't met her yet in my time, so she's from... my future.
no subject
A sentient mandrake plant that can impersonate people?
[that's... new]
She 'ad your memories and powers as well.
no subject
[ Sabrina might be more comfortable using her magic now, but not to the point of assaulting people all willy-nilly. ]
... it was a spell cast. The Mandrake was apparently supposed to take my magic so that it could be destroyed.

That sort of thing is usually not good or fun.
[ He's dealt with a few doppelgangers. Not fun. ]
no subject
[ She offers a smile, appreciative a stranger is checking in. ]
I've never had to deal with doppelgangers before, but I don't think I want to ever again.
no subject
Yeah, never a fun time. I've dealt with a few different kinds, and they are always... well, a nasty lot, at best.
[ He had flashes of his encounters with the many different kinds. Skinwalkers and changers, and the ghosters, too. ]

[ Chloe didn't get near the thing. Her powers would have been useless fighting it, anyway. ]
You okay?

Yeah, I'm alright now. Thanks for asking.

... I hope? She didn't do anything weird?
Re: video
No spells, though. I suppose I should be grateful.

You have no idea how glad I am to hear it. Still, I'm sorry she bothered you in the first place. I had no idea what she was up to.

[But Jane notices the differences, notices her clenched jaw. The stress and worry. It clicks then and Jane wishes that she had known Sabrina better. She would have been a little more wary at least.]
But it sounds like you've been through something too. Are you okay?
[Her look-alike did do a number on them, but Jane can't say it was out of maliciousness. Just self-preservation.]
video
[ Sabrina looks over in awe, but then again, she doesn't know Jane too well. Who knows what kind of power she has? ]
Huh? Oh. [ A sheepish expression. ] Missing a week is definitely jarring, but I'm alright.
video
[She also got a horrible migraine again and nearly got sucked into the thing as well, but welp. What can you do?]
But if you mean your double, no. I didn't. But I'm glad you're alright.
video
[ She's caught off guard. ]
You ran into her, too?
