003. - Book Club!

Alright, so I've suggested this a little to some friends of mine, but I'm thinking about throwing this out a bit wider.

I'm thinking about starting up a book club. Less in the style of book of the month and more organizing one or possibly more groups who can share books or even genres they love most with other people. People would still do the whole guiding discussion but not looking for high end critique so much as just talking about it.

We all need something to unwind and I don't doubt some of us are really fans of reading. I would think the arrangement might work best with members willing to buy their own books. I think for the first few meetings I'd be willing to cook either a simple meal or some finger foods to enjoy, but people could also volunteer to provide food or drinks.


Anyone interested in the idea?

There is definitely a monetary issue then. And can't do it in a cafe or something if we're bringing our own food. It's all logistics. I'll figure something out.

I can't really say. I wasn't there personally when he found out. I only have second hand knowledge of how either of them reacted, and Tommy likes to inflate things.

[Which means Tommy was probably disdainful and Billy excited.]

Given finding out also meant deriving that they were retroreincarnated and children of two very powerful people, I don't think the demon soul thing bothered them as much as it should have.

Oh, if you get the right program, you can modify the settings. I think Google had something where you could share it, but no one could edit it? Or only certain people could? They were big on collaboration. There might be something like that here, or maybe you could do one of those old email listings?

See, instead of google docs I was thinking more a doodle-poll style thing. That allows for very specific control of the influx of data, but also allows me to spreadsheet it pretty easily. Way better than list-servs.

I wish I could say it doesn't bother me.

Even knowing things will turn out alright, the fact my father isn't who I thought he was. My poor mother was tricked into carrying the devil's child... who knows if they even knew the truth themselves before they died?

Sounds like you've got a few more worlds going on. This one, and the one that is your father, which is so much more than merely a witch world.

In fact, he's not my father and never will be. Edward Spellman will always be the one who loved and cared for me.

Yeah, that would probably be better. Then you could ask questions like books people would prefer to steer away from or what they consider to be a "short story" or "decent sized novel".

I remember everything I ever learned as a knowledge or skill. Yes. But that knowledge doesn't extend to memories. It's... a very strange situation.

Okay, Short story has a very specific definition!

You sure? Because I've been in some English Lit classes that considered five hundred pages short and I've read dissertations not as lengthy. With the citation pages.

Short stories are, by definition, 1000 to 7500 words. Period. Anything else is a lie.
