[ Josh has - definitely looked more put together on the network. His back is pressed to a wall, heaving like he just ran a marathon, and there's definitely blood on his labcoat. You can distantly hear the murmurings of some very frightened people - there isn't room in all the rooms up here for them, so most are left to mill about in the hallway. just stuck in the hallway starting to panic. He's clearly tried to shuffle away to not panic them more. ]

We've got a situation at De Chima General. This guy turned in the lobby and -- I mean it's a hospital, it's contained, it's busy. I need help getting these people out and transferred somewhere safer, and making all these things for real dead. My powers are too close range o be effective. But if you get bit - depending on where you get bit - I - I can save you but you're probably not going to like how...

[ His head thunks back against the wall. He swallows hard. ]

Everything below the third floor is No Mans Land. There are people down there but -- someone's gotta get to them before its too late. If it's not already too late. [ he pinches the bridge of his nose. ] God, I hate zombies.

[ Oh, this is bad. This is very bad. Ruby hadn't realised that the zombie problem had gotten to this point. She wasn't sure how to save an entire hospital's worth of people. It was much easier to kill than to rescue, and luckily for her she'd never had to try and individually save more than one or two people at a time. Nonetheless, she's already thinking as she turns on the audio and grabs her larger backpack. ]

I can't do anything about the No Man's Land personally, my powers aren't great for fighting zombies indoors without catching everything else on fire in the process, but I might be able to climb up to the roof and lower a rope so some people on the higher floors can start getting out.

... how tall is the hospital anyways?

[ She'd recently scaled one of the older hospitals in the area, but hadn't really done much in the way of scoping out the others due to how likely it was she'd be unable to do so without notice. ]

It's pretty high, but I dunno the actual height. Measuring isn't really my strong suit. And that's an idea but I'm not sure how many people are gonna be able to get down, it's pretty high.

[ There's a pause, and when she talks again she's a little more hesitant. ] I don't think I'd be able to climb it if it's that tall, well, not in a timely manner. I'll figure out some way to be support on the ground.

Oh, hell. [There's a reason this isn't video; Barbara looks pretty haggard, and at first she can't keep it out of her voice, can't help feeling a little bit hopeless. She was really hoping they'd avoid an outbreak like this. No matter what they do, there are going to be casualties here.

But that's exactly why she can't succumb to it. The exhaustion drains from her voice, replaced with sheer determination.]

I've been working with one of the teaching hospitals. It's barricaded, it has as many supplies as we can get to it, and it's full of survivors trying to help. I doubt they can accommodate all of the patients, but - at least a percentage, especially with more doctors coming in. And as much equipment as people can grab.

If we can get the worst cases somewhere safe then I can handle the rest.

[ Barely. He's looking at probably slamming face first into another coma. But it's better than the alternative. ]

Are you - [She cuts herself off. Even if he can't, is there any alternative?]

Okay. I'll contact them and get things ready. ...Do you know of any other healers?

I'm not exactly an 'extraction' kind of guy, but I've been working on some of the smaller scale outbreaks. If you need a distraction to draw them off...

[There's the bright flash of a tiny explosion from his hand and a popping noise, followed by someone offscreen yelling at him to keep it down. Carter doesn't look sheepish for once - his expression is firm, less jovial than usual. Not even a nervous grin.]

[ Josh nods grimly. It's not something he wants to do. Not unless... ] Do you think you can recruit a teleporter or someone to keep you safe? There's no point in you drawing them off if they corner you.

[ oh. no. she's so young. there's a kneejerk reaction, he wants to tell her to go home and stay safe but he wouldn't have listened at that age. ]
