Greetings, ah...com...munity. Listeners. [...] Ah, whatever.
[as always, username Cecelia Ardenbury is FAR more eloquent in text than on camera. which she is, right now! a good twenty years older than her usual self, to boot, and looking fabulous despite her strained expression. or maybe because of it?
anyway.]
Regarding the...happenings? The odder-than-usual ones, that is. Well, it ought to get straightened out here tonight. See, some feywild nonsense occurred and, if you're at all familiar with that as a concept, then...things become quite clear.
However, if none of this is clear at all, that will clear up, too!
[...]
...As in, it won't matter, I'm fixing it.
Probably.
Hopefully.
[another beat. she looks a bit flustered despite a visible attempt at appearing more composed.
after clearing her throat:] In any case, the strife will be over. In this case, that is; don't you come crawling to me if someone else starts up some nonsense, alright? I may not even be here to witness it!
[her expression sobers at that.]
...That said. If...this is to be my final opus here in this realm, then...farewell. See to yourselves in the ways kindest or most fitting for you, I suppose. [a limp shrug, looking off-camera.] I can't tell you what to do, only offer well wishes.
[she bites her lip for a moment before drawing a bracing breath, straightening back up in to prim posture. chin up, Cecelia.]
And...Cecelia? Should you look back and find me here... [her expression flattens.] Well, first, stop panicking, and second? Put me out of mind. I'm only a possibility, not the inevitable.
...Don't forget people truly do care.
My notes are in the usual place. Read them if you wish, burn them if you must; they're yours.
[another beat, then an exhale.]
...Well, then. Time to meddle once more.

video;
What are you planning?
no subject
Well. I'm going to try to appease the magic and put it to rest, more or less. Depending on how it goes...you may not have to worry about being so...glittery.

ELF.

No wait, priorities, Rimuru! ] Miss, are you alright?
no subject
glibly:] Oh, I suppose that depends on what you mean. Hale and whole? Yes, and well enough considering all that's occurred. I haven't sprouted any surprise limbs or changed an unnatural color, which is more than I can say for others afflicted of late.
[a beat.
she squints. what...exactly...is she looking at here.]
...Which is more than I can say for you. Are you gelatin right now?
no subject
A slime! Though I guess it's kind of like gelatin. Living gelatin.
Should you be sprouting surprise limbs or change your color?
no subject
[a beat.]
Unless you are, and in which case...I...honestly shouldn't be surprised anymore.

Speaking of which, whatever you are planning on doing doesn't sound like it will be safe for you. Are you sure you don't need help? There is no need to be the lonely hero when so many people have helpful superpowers too.
no subject
...To say nothing of my prowess as a sorceress, which will definitely help. It's fine.
no subject
I don't understand the need to do everything by yourself. Others gladly help if they are given that opportunity, but there is always this sense of "my mess, so I will do it all on my own". I feel like that sort of mindset hurts everyone else a lot.
[ He doesn't know this person or the situation, he probably shouldn't be saying this. But in the end, Rimuru prefers to trust others; to him that's far better than playing the role of the "ultimate sacrifice". ]
Ah well, what do I know. I'm just a slime.
no subject
then she smiles, but it's brief; it quickly becomes more of a smirk.
not unkindly:] You're sweet. That sounds like something I'd have read more than a few times before.
[sitting back from her camera, rolling her shoulders and looking off to the side.]
I think the whole...band together as one part will be the plan B in regard to this kind of nonsense. [glancing back.] So don't worry. You'll get a shot, in that case.
no subject
Well, if you say so. To each their own. [ he still thinks there is no need to be like that, but he feels like he lectured her already, so he stops ]
Good luck with your thing.

[............................................
uh.................................]
With...being...that...
no subject
If it's easier for you, I can look human?
no subject
...ah.
quickly dismissive:] Oh, it doesn't matter to me. If you're comfortable as-is, then far be it from me to dictate; would that I had similar properties, I'm sure I'd find my own conclusion as well.
[not...as slime....but whatever.]
no subject
[ Rimuru suddenly reshapes himself to look human ]
I guess this is more relatable.
no subject
she clears her throat.]
To someone like me, yes. And most here, I suppose, considering how it's...mostly humans around. But you needn't adapt simply on my behalf; I'm not going to waste time ogling when I've got to set out fixing this feywild mess, after all.
no subject
Well, sure. But If we meet again, at least you can recognize me. It's easier now.
no subject
[and gods help him if she meets him in slimy person...she'll scream. probably.]
no subject
no subject
[her smirk softens.]
Very well. I'll count on you for that, then. Just... [her eyes wince.] Be patient with her. She's not very trusting.
no subject
It will be alright.

It is easier with knowledgeable companions, though. Perhaps you can enlighten me on some of your dealings? I can't take something so broad at face-value, of course.
no subject
[He's heard plenty of stories from the other scions about that.
There's a fumble as he tries to find the setting to turn this private.]
PRIVATE
Forgive me, I hath reason to keep mine exploits privy to only those whom need know of them.
I hath spent the better part of three years living amongst the fae of Il Mheg, a privileged fairly won by rights of an eight day and night contest of riddles with the host of them. I hath more recently studied with the fuath seeking assistance in learning the art of walking upon the surface of bodies of water.
private
she squints. Il Mheg?
slowly, still mulling it over:] Il Mheg...Do I know that name? [...] Ugh. Maybe, but it could be in a different dialect for all I know. Fey. [she scoffs, growing indignant.]
And this is the exact problem with problem-solving problems from that realm! One mistranslation or missing accent and you've lost an entire clue! Gods.
Private
[He chuckles though]
Thou hath struck true upon the truth of many a matter, and thus mine own preference for learning to speak the language of those whom I hath surrounded myself with. Many clues are oft couched in wordplay and metaphor as well.
no subject
[a beat.
she frowns, squints, and then blinks.]
...I suppose that could be the case, given the way the magic's affected people. Why not books?

Fortunately, I think I've collected all the pieces of the staff this magic was loosed from? So I'll be trying to draw it all back in where it belongs.

It's not exactly a solid science, I'm afraid. It's just something you do and...hope for the best! Optimism is weirdly powerful? Gods, imagine if I had more of that growing up.
no subject
Is there anything we can do to help make it safer?
no subject
[she does give it a moment of genuine thought, but it ultimately ends with her giving him a helpless shrug and a wincing smile.]
...Think happy thoughts?
