[The camera follows Quentin Beck. There is no costume today. He's in regular clothes. As he walks along a faint cheeping sound can be heard and he frowns slightly, approaching a tree. The camera centres behind him so we can see what he's seeing - on the ground a tiny baby bird has fallen from its nest. Beck crouches down and delicately picks the bird up and looks above. Baby cradled in one hand, he raises his other and rises smoothly into the air. Lifted by a cloud of green smoke, he ascends and places the bird back in a nest but then a meowing can be heard. ]

Now how did you get up here...?

[A mild reprimand then Beck finds the cat and picks it up, hovering for a moment before gliding carefully back down to the ground. He lets the cat go and it scampers away but as it does there's a whining yelp. Again, Beck crouches down and as the camera gives a good front view of him, he picks up a small cute puppy. He nuzzles his hand and he pets it gently before looking off into the middle distance; the picture of a modest hero...]

Let's find you a home.

A proper show would need flames, a building about to collapse and dozens of small children about to be crushed... until some hero swoops in to save the day.

People praise heroes. They have to see something to know they're a hero.

Actually, they don't. The bigger you are, the more you get people who ask why you saved everyone but them.

But you'll believe what you want. You always do.

Because I can only be in so many places. And some people don't actually want to be saved.

Then they shouldn't complain.

And you shouldn't try and glorify it. Real heroes don't do it for the recognition.
Trust me, you don't have time for a selfie when you're stopping a runaway train or a collapsing building.

Or if you do, it's totally tacky and you don't deserve the cape.

Right now, I don't even need the cape.

[Cape and costume does make his powers easier to control but he wants to prove a point that he doesn't need it any more. He also doesn't need to stop since he has his flying drones recording everything... which he's augmented to create what he wants people to see.]
