And if you do have a military background, what jobs appeal to you?

I used my training to become a military history and theory teacher for other imPorts.

Imperial Stormtrooper Corps--Marines would be the closest equivalent here. And I'm still a stormtrooper, so local police and military's not on the table without official sanction. So, I'm working for Aegis Force: It's a legally sanctioned all-imPort group with a mission to protect the populous from crime and dangerous anomalies. It's structured different than the military, but there are a lot of active-duty and veteran imPorts working there.

For what it's worth, I think it's a good group with good ideals.

I've been fighting for so long that it feels unnatural to...not. I would feel better if I was protecting someone. Everyone if I can.

Our HQ is in Maurtia Falls. As long as you're registered with the government and have two character references our commander can get in touch with, you can apply to join. [He sends along the information for registration.]

That's an admirable instinct to have, though it can be hard to manage here. There's no active conflict zones, just the anomalies. That's good for the civilians, but it can be difficult to adjust. If that's an issue for you, I'm here to assist.

But you're trained? Front lines are just where it gets messy. If your body is strong and your mind focused, you can do a lot of good.

It is as apt to pull in those with military experience as those who lack it entirely. To my knowledge there has been no recognizable pattern established on that particular front. That is not to say there are not unusual patterns, however, so scrutiny is both warranted and recommended.

As for your second question, my first answer is not one you are likely to view favorably. All you need to know is that I have instead chosen to pursue another path that still puts my skills to use for mutual benefit, but via far less controversial methods. I am not unwilling to share that information, but due to lingering concerns regarding just how secure these networks are, it is something I am only willing to discuss in person.
