[The Tenno is bored. And with this time of year, she's seeing normal teens out and about. Which has made her miss some things from home. So-]

If I gave the basic idea of a K-drive, could someone build one for me?

Normally I'd just go to Fortuna and ask the Ventkids but obviously that's not an option here. So I figure maybe another imPort might be up for the challenge?

Bet we could make a credit or two from them too.

They're rocket-powered hoverboards built by the Vent Kids, usually out of parts they would hijack from the Corpus. They usually get some pretty decent air and work over water.

Don't know how feasible one is here but it would be interesting to try.

It's not that much of a stretch, considering the tech for hovering vehicles is already here. What sort of speed range are you aiming for?

I can't say I ever kept track of the speed but the one I had probably around twenty meters a second? So around there, if that sounds reasonable.

Well... I suppose I can put a speed limiter on it to keep it down to that speed, yes. Rather defeats the purpose, but certainly doable.

[Her eyes light up.]

I'm not against more speed. It's not like it can flay my skin off, after all.

[After all, the Vent Kids are just kids making boards from parts they nicked from Nef. Much as she appreciates it, and them, a K-Drive specially built for speed is something she can't refuse.]

If speed is what you're after, you're definitely talking to the right mech.

I think we're going to get along great, at this rate.

Too many imPorts are satisfied with just plodding along with whatever mode of transportation is plunked in front of them.

Seems like a waste to me, when you have so many opportunities to try new modes of transport.

Almost makes me wish I could get my hands on an Archwing too.

They were made as all-environment flight systems for us Tenno, including life-support for space combat. There are only four or five designs but they all shared the trait of looking like mechanical wings.

I don't suppose you have a spec sheet for something like that?

I'm afraid not. I could sketch out the ones I know but beyond that, I don't know a lot on the technical side.

It's usually two or three times faster than a k-drive though.

I can certainly build something that fast, but whether it'd have any resemblance to what you're used to is debatable. Which would you prefer?

[Hard choice. The archwing has been a necessary piece of gear for so long it feels odd without it but this world does have it's porters... Hmm.]

I don't see much need for combat outside Earth's atmosphere so probably the k-drive. [Feed the adrenaline need.]

Fast as you can make it, really. If you want, you can get a look at my Warframe, magnetic footing would be handy probably.

Not sure, the Vent Kids built them. I'm not totally familiar with Corpus tech.

I didn't expect so many people to be interested. Might be a good idea to get everyone together to make one.

Gift cards could be super cool, but don't underestimate the draw of being 'best' when it comes to a bunch of engineers and programmers.

I'm pretty sure anything propulsion-related is gonna be a little outside my wheelhouse, but I could probably handle the rest. You know, electronics, testing, parts fabrication. That sorta thing.

[Did he just try to cut in line to play with it? Yes. Yes he did. Partly because this sounded ridiculously fun, but also because if anything went wrong and the whole thing went flying into a wall, he's probably got the best odds of walking away from it.]

I won't say no to more help. Honestly, I mostly just let the Vent Kids handle most of the work. They told me the parts I needed and went from there.

[She's not sure about the testing but that's a bit of a way off from where they are now. And she'd feel awful, come time to test it, if someone was hurt that could be avoided.]
