{ 010 } ♔ TEXT
Much has changed over the years, as some of you have seen for yourselves. Many have come and gone. Many have returned remembering this world, while others have returned remembering and knowing nothing.
Next month will mark the third year in which I have taken up residence here. I wouldn't call myself stuck, not particularly, though I know there might be some who would disagree.
So then here is a question for everyone: how long have you been residing here? What have you done or accomplished during your stay? What will you do next?
For me, I believe it is time to obtain some form of official license with piloting. Among other things.

None required - I've been awaiting an opportunity and been waylaid by my own business. A bit like the Senate, in better days, I suppose? Something always happens while you're on the way to where you want to go?
[And a very careful choice of words, 'better days' when the Senate was extant - a hint to her intentions. She doesn't need to be subtle, but the opportunity is too enjoyable to pass up.]

[ Welp. They may as well cut the civil words and get straight to it. Leia hardly has the patience when dealing with anyone from the Empire, no thanks to Hux. ]

I can only speak to the one I knew - given I was very young when the Republic collapsed. Certainly a superior manner of administration, at least, to the Moffs.
[It was, she felt, a small bit of common ground they could agree on. Build from, if she were extremely fortunate.]

Just a point of view I hope you'll keep in mind with what I am here to discuss.
[After all, what high Imperial has ever admitted that mistakes were made?]
But hopefully your brother communicated the basics of my offer. As Director-General of the Empire, I believe it's time for a formalized peace treaty between the Empire and Republican elements. Truces are fragile, and everything is on the table in order to move towards a formal treaty.
[They may not have realized, after all, that she is not just a functionary. Here, unburdened by the hardliners she had alluded to, peace can be made.]

Moreover, it offers a way forward to new possibilities, and I scarcely see how anyone can object to formal language to solidify what already exists. Presuming, of course, any other interested parties don't rush to do the same thing.
Would you be willing to at least meet in person? I understand your reticence, and I will offer any guarantees you require to make a meeting work. All I ask is that you consider it.

For now, I will be declining your request to meet as I don't believe it is necessary at this point in time.

Yes, because a Sith Temple being built and whatever Darth Jadus is up to are signs of long-term stability. You'll forgive the sarcasm, I hope - having lived under one Sith's governance, I'm not particularly trustful of others clearly building a power base.
I hope you will reconsider. I will approach you again, in the future. As well as others. In the meantime, I have a promise to your brother to keep. I hope that will serve as a sign of good faith.

Where exactly did you hear this? Did Jadus speak of it to you personally? Or are these simply rumors you're passing on?
You made a promise with Luke?

Take that as you will, but you can verify that much yourself, I'm sure.
And I did. Two, actually. We did not get far, but one at least I can share with you - I inherited the Emperor's library upon his death. Whatever I can remember, I will freely share. The other matter was a formal apology for the persecution of the Jedi Order. Admittedly, not much - but if there is ever to be a start to peace, it is a necessary first step. And a sign of my good faith.
[Because it's not as if any other Imperial would be willing to do it, even as a ruse. Most of the high officials view any admittance of error as undermining the entirety.]

You "inherited" it? You mean to tell me you didn't stage a coup against whoever had really inherited it to take it from them? I mean to say, that's how most if not all Imperials work, is it not? Killing one another or undermining them to work your way to the top.
As I said before, the peace we have here between both sides was never under threat until you began questioning it, Director.

In all honesty, my predecessors were much too concerned with their own petty acquisitions to view it as all that much of a prize. They were men of the court, you see - venal and without imagination. But the offer is made, and it is one I will keep when called upon.
[In short, she just opts to ignore it. The old Isard would have risen to that bait. But she has no reason to justify herself to a woman who is, moment by moment, disappointing. This is not the Leia Organa she'd studied for years, surely. The cunning warrior and keen diplomat. Can it be yet another from that disappointing alternative full of ridiculous First Orders and immediate collapse?]
With all due respect, that is a naive perspective that I can't believe you truly hold. The Emperor's plan for power took thirty years to accomplish, with few if any outwards signs of its progression before the end. Your peace has survived by chance, not design. And there is no way I am the first person to realize this - though perhaps the first to say it out loud.
