I know it's normal for people to come and go, and sometimes to come back. But how normal is it that some of those people don't remember being here? Specially if they spent years here, I don't understand how memories can vanish just like that.

I was told multiple-universes exist, so maybe that person who was here isn't really me. I wonder where he went to, though, and if he can come back. I think it's a bit unfair to the people left behind who knew him, but I really don't think I'm him. I'm sorry about that, we can be friends again but we would have to start over.


I'm thinking about going back to college but I'm not sure what to expect from this place. Has anyone tried it? Do I need to do anything special in order to enroll or do I just show them my imPort tattoo? [ he is being a bit cheeky, but can you blame him ]

If the others from my own world are anything to go by, then it's more common not to remember than it is to return with your memories intact. Out of the four of us who have been here before, only I remember our previous stay.

Is there are explanation or reason why it happens? Why some people keep their memories and others don't?

I think there are some theories. Many universes, like you said. Many points in time. Maybe the nanites affect memory? It probably has something to do with the fact that when you return to your world, you remember nothing of this place.

If nanites cause this, is it really safe to be using them?

ImPorts have been around for many years, right? How come no one knows much about the Porter and everything that happens?

I don't know for sure that it's the nanites, but they're the one thing all imPorts have in common.

There have been attempts to research the Porter, I know. Some imPort had compiled years' worth of notes and findings, but he's long gone now.

But imPorts have been showing up in this world for a long time and no one knows much about the Porter or how everything works. I'm guessing a lot of scientists already tried to studying it.
