[ Luke looks extremely hesitant when he appears on screen, focusing more down at his hands than at the communicator in front of him. He opens his mouth to start speaking once, twice, before blowing out a tired sigh and reluctantly looking up at the phone. ]

Pidge... informed me of what all I did, last month, in that other world.

[ He hesitated, clearly uncomfortable with everything he had heard. ]

At this point, I probably should be offering some wisdom. Something about how our choices matter and how it shaped us to who we really are, but...

[ He hesitated again, dropping his head into his hand and rubbing at his forehead. ]

...honestly, after all that, I'm not feeling it. I think taking a page out of Han's book is more appropriate right now.

[ He lifted his head again, looking a bit more resolute. ]

Party at our place. We only have a small stash, so you might want to bring your own alcohol. Darin, you're especially invited. So are Lucina and Guzma.

[ A voice in the background shouted, "Don't forget Allura!" just as Luke was about to shut off the video. ]

[He's posing it as a question, but they both know it's just a polite formality. Even Nox had to be particularly irritated to just start with "what did you fuck up?"]

I also assume this means you were one of the ones who returned with missing memories. Is Pidge the only one who recalls the details of wherever it is you people were taken?

[ He really didn't want to give details in public. Announcing that he had turned into a dictator wasn't exactly high on his priority list. ]

Pidge is the only one I've run into, yes.

You aren't exactly taking a page out of Han's book unless there is some serious gambling involved to go with the mix of alcohol.

The party hasn't started yet; it could happen. Who knows, maybe someone will get drunk enough to suggest strip poker.

Luke. [ Leia raises her brows sharply. ] But you're right— [ laughing. ] —there's a very high probability that that will end up happening.

Would you like me to order in a larger stash and have it delivered to you? Since you said the party has yet to begin.

I fully intend to drink until I find the point where the Force gives up trying to stop my getting drunk.

[ He lapsed into silence, a pained look on his face. ]

[ She took in that expression, sighing to herself, and reaching out through the Force she hoped that her touch was soothing for him, in some way. ]

How about we allow for two? It does sound like you need the extra day.

It's alright. I went through something similar in that world and ... I got nothing.

I hope everything will be alright for you and Pidge.

[She's not sure if she's up for a party, but she will wish them well.]

It will be. I just have... vague impressions, nothing concrete. But it was horrible to know the things I did.

And part of me wonders if that really is the path I would take if I was put in that situation, or if there were other factors at work.

It was another universe. Of course there were other factors at work. Everyone’s capable of anything. It’s just hard to say what would make a large difference or a small one. Or if it just builds up over time.

[Jane isn’t sure how she ended up the way she did in that other world, but she hopes that she never, ever goes down that path.]

[ He hesitated, his gaze turning away from the phone. ]

It was still 'us' in that place. Our Selves may not have been aware, may not have retained knowledge, but we were still there.

[ And they hadn't been able to do a damn thing to stop themselves. ]

[She sighs.]

Yeah. I won't disagree with that. Somewhere, out there, other forms of ourselves made those choices and did those actions. We can't erase that.
