I've been saving up since I arrived. I am happy to announce that I'm going to be opening my own restaurant soon. It'll be called the Ruby Café, just like my restaurant back home, and serving all kinds of delicious dishes. As you might know, I have a nutritional manipulation power. Meals will be available with lowered calories counts, extra vitamins, all kinds of benefits. I'm going to have a booth at fanport so everyone can try my dishes. Hope to see you all there.

Thank you! I guess it's both. New here and a sort of revival of what I had back home. I've only had powers here.

That seems to be the case for a lot of people. At least yours sound somewhat useful.

Yes, I've been lucky with the powers. It could only have been better if they had come with instructions.

That's a useful power. My mom would have loved to have it. For similar reasons. She loved to bake.

It really is! I lucked out when it comes to powers. Did your mom touch you to bake? I learned to cook from my Aunt Ruby. It's so nice when a family member can pass those things down.

She didn't really have time - Tatooine was so hot she generally only baked at night, after the suns went down, and I was asleep by then. Or still working sometimes. And I left when I was ten.

[ His expression falls for a moment before he pulls it back together. ]

[Lacey frowns. She hadn't meant to bring up any bad memories. Her world was so simple. She can't imagine why a young child would be working late or leaving home.]

Oh, gosh. I'm sorry.

I think she may have taught my step-brother's wife? Mom sent me to the Jedi. It was a better life than Tattoine and Master Qui-Gon wanted to train me. I can't. She loved me enough to give me something better. That isn't sad. I miss her. But it's not a reason to be sad.

I've never stopped missing my aunt. I find ways to keep her memory with me, to keep her in my heart, you know? [She was better to Lacey than her parents.]

The Jedi? Oh, you're one of those people from a world with spaceships and aliens. [Which is actually more than Lacey would have known back home. She always did get confused with pop culture references.] She must have loved you a lot.

Yeah. I was. Ah, literally at her breast and learning how to clean and repair tech from her.

[ Does he realize it is odd to remember back that far? No, no he does not. ]

She taught me everything she knew about it, and it helped us out a lot - I was always pretty good at scoping out valuable pieces in the trash heaps, and I'd hide them and drag them home. We'd fix them up and sell them, Watto let us keep the money from those. We could buy more food and water than what he rationed to us that way. I even found an entire droid once, and fixed him up to help Mom around the house. I didn't quite get him finished before I left but he was fixed enough to help her, and keep her company. I've always used those lessons from her.

Yeah. A whole galaxy of them. I love the ships. I always wanted one of my own to travel with. See the star systems and the planets they have.

She did. I never, not once, not ever, doubted that. I always knew. Could always feel it.

Is it just nutrition or... can you make the taste different?

My power's only for nutrition. It's my wonderful cooking skills that make the food taste amazing.

[ ah he got hopeful for a moment there. Nothing against her food, but he can't have human food.]

I'm certain it's good. I will drop by sometime, with a friend. [Ochako would probably love it though]
