[ the video starts and Kaneki has a small nervous smile because using video is always a bit awkward. He is in his apartment house in Maurtia Falls, with tons of books on the shelves behind him. ]

H-hello. We are almost in December, and I guess Christmas is very important here- [ he has noticed all those Christmas decorations and songs, yeah. It's all a bit overwhelming, but he is going to get into the Christmas spirit too ] So I was wondering if anyone would be up for a Christmas dinner? I never had one, neither hosted one, but I think it'd be nice and different.

Me and Katsuki live in Maurtia Falls, and we can host the dinner here at the beginning of the month after the Welcome Ceremony for new imPorts, maybe. For friends, and friends of friends. [ kaneki smiles wider ]

If anyone would like to bring food or drinks you can, but I will be the one cooking, I've been reading a little about popular Christmas dishes.

ImPorts are a small community in this world. [ they are bond to all know each other. ]

Shigaraki-san, Toga Himiko tried to stab me. [ if you didn't know about that, now you do! ] She didn't know who I was when she did that. It may be presumptuous of me, but I doubt the League of Villains told her to go stab a random imPort none of you knew, in the corn maze during the Fanport.

Plus, you and I met there as well. You could have easily done it yourself if that was truly something the League wanted to do. [ AND Shigaraki wouldn't even leave proof behind since he can turn things into dust. ]

That does sound like something she'd try to do. She must really like you. [[He can't lie, she definitely likes stabbing the hell out of people she likes.]] Me, however... What, though? Stabbed you? Killed you?

Let me pose the question that you haven't asked back to you, Kaneki-san. Since we're being so forward and blunt, I think you'll have to excuse my return: Just who are you? Let alone individual parts of us, but the entirety of my ...mostly law abiding comrades would care about you? Why would I care about a random stranger who is, I thought, of no threat to me or mine?

[ Kaneki is so glad this is audio and not video, because that means his expression can twist and he won't give away how nervous he is. Honestly, why does he always end up involved with really dangerous people? ]

I'm no one. I just happen to be friends with them, including the person you kidnapped. [.... friends. Sure. ] It's because I'm no one that I don't think I'm worth retaliation.

but Shigaraki sure likes to dance around things. In a way, he reminds Kaneki of Takizwa-san. He never gave a straight answer either. The difference is that Takizawa-san was an ally and this person is the opposite.

Kaneki also has no interest in humoring that, not right now. ]

Shigaraki-san. I simply want to maintain some form of neutrality. I also don't want things to escalate between you and them because of an accident during the FanPort which none of them were involved in.

Is that sort of thing possible?

If you wanted neutrality and to be objective, you wouldn't have accused me of kidnapping by hearsay. You wouldn't have to have moved this to a private conversation. You would have asked me well before this moment about these things and you wouldn't be checking to see if my intent was to "be a villain". [[The next line is not a compliment, it's said with disdain.]] You really are cut out to be a hero.

Just say it.

Say you want assurances. Say that you're so frightened we're going to do more than show up at your dinner party you advertised without second thought to everyone... perhaps all while even knowing we were here. Or maybe... [[His voice changes, more thoughtful on it. There's a scratching noise, very close to the communicator, but all the same a few moments of dalliance.]] Maybe I should be the one needing assurances of you.

[ you don't know where they live, Shigaraki. But even if he brought that up, he would go around in circles again just like he keeps doing. Kaneki thought calling someone a villain was a bit ridiculous at first and yet.

This person fits it, doesn't it? What the comic books write about and say]

I also don't wish to be stabbed again...

[[The narrowing down is nice, and the knock door to door wouldn't be too hard to narrow down. Somewhere likely around an area with a school and a few other amenities that children have to adhere to here. But, he's not interested in putting in the effort.]]

Then don't start a war. Especially with half the story, Kaneki-san. I will talk to Toga about restraint, but I don't control her. I don't control any of them. They work with me, they're not my mindless slaves, [[He's got Nomu for that, or had.]] and I won't treat them like slaves in your sick, heroic fantasy of what it must be like to be on this side of the conversation.

[[If this weren't vocally being said, he never would have said it, he can vehemently deny it if needs be.]]

Now, will you answer my question, or is there more you have to say to me?

[ except Kaneki is an adult. Sure, he suffers from Baby Face Syndrome, but he is actually about to become 19. Their house wasn't chosen with schooling in mind, either, and rather it's about proximity to laboratories where Kaneki gets his food from. But that's not important. ]

I'm not interested in your relationships... [ What's also perhaps a bit ironic is how Shigaraki assumes Kaneki is a "hero". Back in his world, all of his friends are serial killers. In fact, wasn't it for the League having kidnapped Bakugou, he most likely would be pretty much okay with them (even Toga!) because literally nothing is black and white in his life. ] I just don't want this to snowball.

[ and clearly, him answering to kaneki's post like that could snowball things. Kaneki is certain Shigaraki knows that, but he seems to be having fun with such too ]

What do you wish to know, specifically? [ no dancing around the subject with long monologues please.......... ]

Katsuki, Uraraka-san, Yaoyorozu-san and perhaps their teachers will be there. Do you really think it's that simple to just show up as well? [ he doesn't want his apartment to turn into a war zone!!! ]

Yes. I do. It should be that easy. If you're all looking for neutrality, if you're broadcasting to all people, should we feel or be excluded?

Neutrality is very different than allowing you to just come to where I live.

Shigaraki-san, what are you hoping to get out of this?

Truthfully? A show of equality, finally.

In comparison to how powerful we are, I keep hearing just how much people you sit with amicably with want us dead here. While looking down on us would readily kill me, kill people they play judge jury and executioner for. Kill us for what, Kaneki-san? Give me your judgement.

You could say what you wanted to, it doesn't affect me, but died? [[He huffs a small, amused noise.]] Likely not. You don't know Toga like I know her. She's crazy, but she doesn't lack a brain or strategy in using her brain. She's just impulsive. She must really like you.

Likely. [ honestly. Ghouls eat people they like too, Kaneki isn't blind to that (heck, that's how his whole thing with ghouls begun, a lady ghoul found him cute. So she waned to eat him). But it still doesn't mean it doesn't weird him out a lot. it's creepy. ]

If you're asking me if I see why Toga's quirk is an issue and how she deals with it is an issue, then no. From keeping her out of trouble, yes. However, I'm not her keeper, either.

I think the problem here is that you all think I speak for every person that you all for some reason think I control. All I can do is suggest that for one night she doesn't stab anyone. Even if they were under whatever you heroes want to call my control back home, a few of them want to live different lives.

You'll have no worries from Twice, he's trying to live a different life. Dabi just said that he's ecstatic to attend and will be there with gifts of his own. Toga I will have a talk with about her behaviour for that night.

There is no need for presents. Unless Dabi-san would like to bring food as gifts. [ he doubts that. ]
