[video] nothing could possibly go wrong

[Scene: INT. FUTURE FOUNDATION, CONFERENCE ROOM

It looks like a sleekly corporate conference room ran pell-mell through a Star Trek set. At the head of the table is Peter Parker, flanked on either side by Jacob Taylor and Valeria Richards, the latter of whom is probably sitting on multiple phone books in order to see over the table.]

[Jacob looks to the side at his new colleagues, then decides it’s better that he step up than have their first impression made by the toddler with funny ideas about directed energy weapons.] Hey. My name’s Jacob Taylor. This is Valeria Richards, and Peter Parker. We’re making this announcement to say that there’s a new outfit opening up in De Chima, run by ImPorts. As of right now, the Future Foundation is ready for business.

Some of you may remember a version of us from back in your home universe, or the City. To refresh your memory and fill the rest of you in, we’re a research and development institute, privately funded but working for the public interest. Which is a fancy-schmancy way of saying we work for you in spirit but we’re bankrolled by money from patents, not taxes -- or government grants. [The emphasis on those last few words is a mere rhetorical flourish, surely.]

[Valeria shifts a little to look at the camera rather than her colleagues.] We've already done some minor work, just as shakedown projects, proof-of-concept, that sort of thing. There's sample video attached, and more up at the website, including staff CVs. If anyone needs support for cybernetics or any other biomechanics, we're happy to help, and we're expanding to be able to handle stuff like pharmaceuticals in the near future. Basically, if you have a problem with a technological solution, we'll provide it.

[Jacob pipes up again, short and direct.] We’ve also got cutting-edge security tech around all our assets. So if you’re looking for a place to rob or blow up, I suggest you think again.

Ahem. Speaking of blowing stuff up-- [Peter raises his pointer finger for emphasis] -- that’s one thing that’s not in our purview. No weapons. Prospective supervillains will have to apply elsewhere, or better yet, rethink their life decisions.

[Val gives Peter a sidelong look. Way to cramp her style, Parker.] Anyway, that's the announcement. If you've got something we can help with, drop us a line. [She taps a finger on the tablet in front of her, ending the feed.]

[Attached is a video of Erwin of Attack on Titan fame, shirtless because it shows off his lovely new prosthetic arm, an obviously artificial but elegantly designed piece of technology, as he performs a variety of tasks demonstrating both fine motor control and strength.

The Future Foundation website has a hexagon motif and is pretty much what you'd expect out of a think tank, while the CVs Val mentioned suggest that the staff are either 1. ridiculously well-qualified or 2. lying through their teeth.]
