[So hey, do we all remember this we should it only happened like an hour before this post.

Because now that the real suspect has been apprehended, the police have let Dio go, but he's clearly unhappy about the mixup.]

They thought I was a child snatcher. [A scoff.] The police apprehended me...because they thought I was a child snatcher.

[This is clearly more important than all the politics going on rn.]

And to think it was JoJo all along. This is ridiculous.

[That's almost it, but then he holds this up to the camera.]

And just what do they expect me to do with this!? One of them gave it to me in lieu of actual compensation. I don't even have a car!

[He feels like he should get a medal for not just snapping and killing everyone in the station. They only gave him the loyalty card for being a whiny baby anyway, most people would just be glad to be cleared.

Not everyone's as egotistical as Dio to think the police owe them anything, but there you go.]

It's weird that they'd arrest you, though. You kind of fit the description but your hair isn't even the right color.

There's many reasons to be amused by this, believe me. [Smiling wide, leaning back away from the hand on his face. No makeup, hair down, and man he looks tired as all hell. You'd think being in a prison cell might help you catch up on sleep if anything.]

[hours later, like four or five in the fucking morning, Jonathan finally stumbles home. he'd originally been scrolling through the network to take his mind off things while he got ready for bed, but after the chatter...and Gon's post...it's turned into a sort of morbid trek to see how much damage's been done.

by the time he hits Dio's post he's kind of at his limit. the cop had said they'd been booking every guy who even remotely matched his description before tracking him down, but Jonathan hadn't thought they would be this literal. christ.

he should say something, shouldn't he? apologize?? probably???

instead the deep sigh he opens off with tapers off into a loud groan, cut off by the soft whump of him just giving up and falling face first onto his bed. sorry Dio, this is the closest to an apology you're getting. he's hit his breaking point.]

[Interesting though...Jonathan didn't want to talk about the people he was getting to know around here, and for good reason, so now here's someone he kidnapped or something? Dio knows him well enough to know something else was probably going on.

Dio actually doesn't respond immediately, because let's face it the guy never sleeps, so he's still awake when this comes through. Rather, he doesn't respond until morning, about 10:30am. Should be reasonable.]

At least it cleared up, though I would've liked to have your company had you gotten in trouble enough. [A smile- then a frown, glancing away.]

Fun? Yeah, I couldn't tell you how many times I beat them at poker already, too bad they won't give me my makeup and hair gel. [Sighs, sliding a hand up into his hair. But he'll smile again.] Please- I know I don't look that bad. There's no reason to get on my nerves when I can't come after you, you know. How mean~

Mostly. I'm still waiting to hear back from my friend, but he went off with that guy to hunt ghosts and he's been skipping school that whole time. I guess they sent out an alert for it.

[He figures Gon's explaining that about now, though.] It's just a misunderstanding. Probably.

It was a misunderstanding. There was really no need for anyone to remain after we'd sorted it out.

He didn't kidnap me. I asked if I could come along. He's really nice, so he said yes. I don't think either of us knew we had to tell anyone. It wasn't anything bad.

I see...I never did doubt my brother's innocence; he isn't the kind of man who'd get into this kind of trouble. Now that it's been explained...it makes far more sense.
