[On the video: a very disgruntled and unhappy looking girl about seventeen years old, her hair a mess of blonde curls that doesn’t look very cared for at the moment. Despite the very hard, very grumpy expression on her face, her eyes are a little droopy; it’s probably impossible to hide how tired she is, but she breezes by that.]

[Speaking of breezing - something very small and fluffy swoops by behind her, before disappearing into the room.]

Florida. Cute. Totally the first place that comes to mind when people throw around the word “superheroes.” [Resisting urge to roll eyes...!] Someone just tell me it’s not as humid as the normal Florida? [Because she’s been there, and this place ain’t it.]

Does anyone actually know how they – get all that information on us? [It makes Annabeth uncomfortable, though that feeling doesn’t show. She’s taking care to keep herself more composed over a public feed like this, beyond her inability to hide the grump, but there’s genuine curiosity in her tone too. The mishmash of this world’s style plus technology is interesting, in spite of herself.]

If there are any good libraries, public records, maybe even not so public records. Just somewhere to start looking. [Her wrist still says ‘Registered Hero,’ ok?? Sneaking around can totally be legit. Something croons off screen, almost a hooting sort of coo.] I’m sure I’m hardly the first person who wants more answers to bug the anonymous abyss of kidnapped heroes for them. I’d be sick of it if I were you. [Only a little bit of a lie.]

[Her lips purse for a second, and then a very small burrowing owl lands on her shoulder. She gives it a sideways, judgey look, before shooing it away.] And I need to know if Percy Jackson is here. [She doesn’t really want to go into or ask about anyone else, not when he’s her priority; and anyone she knows who might be here will answer to her face or the name anyway. In the meantime, she has information to gather. The owl lands on her shoulder again, just before she flicks off the feed.]

You could start with asking around, every library seems to have its own share of self-imposed restriction on texts. Ah, how wonderful mortal government is during wartimes.

As far as the information goes, we're all stuck like glue together in the same single-universe situation. As far as their own deets, it's anyone's guess, really. Omniversal resonance? Perhaps a gift from the all-too-elusive Lachesis?

[Loki, ok, sure. Norse gods?? Or mythology nerds who decided to torture their kid with a name like that?? She'll come back to it later though - along with the use of 'mortal,' which is usually pretty telling.]

Sometimes restrictions can be informative in their own ways. [Censorship though, ew. The worst.]

Is Lachesis a name chosen by pure luck or is it what it says on the tin? [Because if the legit Fates are in this place, Annabeth is going to Officially Quit.]

What wouldn't I like to know? [She grumbles it, half rhetorical, shooing away the owl as it tries to land on her shoulder yet again.] How about the military? If they want us to swear allegiance, it would be nice to get a better picture about what they do at this upcoming ceremony.

The lack of certain information is telling, but unfortunately it's just that.

And I'm beginning to think no, of course it isn't. Not much is pure luck when it comes to Fate. If we're lucky, we've luck. There's been talks of Atropos as well, though Clotho I had to do a bit of digging to find. In a colossal boom, or perhaps a chilling whisper, Atropos destroyed the world before this one. [ he doesn't like it any more than anyone else does, but it serves him with an opportunity that's lost on many others. ]

There's a lot of coincidental coincidences, if you get my drift.

Now you're getting political. It's really simple, despite that. Either you register or they leave you out to dry. There were attacks a month back, split between the Midgardian Florida and the country of Bulgaria. It had quite an impact on imPort affairs.

They want to make us all citizens, but you can see where that gets sticky.

One place, in the middle of a war, with an unpredictable and possibly dangerous advantage? Hmmmm...

Doesn't sound like anyone has much choice but to get political. And registering heroes sounds a lot like a way to keep track of people on the upfront. [She figured as much already.] Attacks by what? Or who?

[She doesn't look happy at the sound of a war, but with what she's already gotten right off the bat, she's not surprised either.]

Loki's not wrong in what he's saying, really. The Porter produces limited information on us, and it's kept on back-up file in the government. There's been a not-fully-correct leak of information from around ten or so files in the last two weeks. I don't believe anyone has been taken into custody for it as of yet.

At least it's limited information. Do you know where I might find the files? Incorrect or otherwise. [The word 'custody' apparently means nothing to her at the moment. But what a good time it would be to have her laptop.]

[Hello from one of Annabeth's roommates. He kind of peers into the camera.]

Whatever information they got, it might not be something you get to keep to yourself. Just a warning. Someone's decided to take some files and twist them up, so it might be a matter of time, no matter how they get it.

But depending on where you come from, there is a lot of information here. Depends on what you need and what kind of base of knowledge you have. [Though maybe not what she's looking for. Jean's been picking up on stuff between school and Armin to know that stuff is out there. The fact that it's restricted is actually news to him, but frankly, he's not surprised.

Maybe books, even if they're actually there, are an illusion after all. He's not so sure.]

[She squints a little, though whether it's at what he says or the way he's peering is up in the air. Just like the owl that flaps behind her.]

[It might not have been exactly what she was after, but that doesn't mean it isn't useful. Twist them up how? Did you mean the information on us or this place in general?

Information on us. Someone decided to release some information on a number of imPorts to stir up some trouble, but no one knows who or why it happened.

So, if you want to know how, I guess another question is what they use that stuff for. And also, how they add to it. [Because Jean knows that they add to it.]

Well, if they're resourceful enough to drag us here in the first place, it's not surprising that they have a decent intelligence network too. What kinda stuff gets added? Is it related to what we do here?

But if someone can break into it, that means it's not infallible either.

Caesar was eyeing the screen with half-lidded eyes and slightly parted lips (and expression of mental vacancy because he's heard this kind of spiel before) until the bird popped up. He immediately dumps any knowledge of what the girl asked previously.

Owl. There is an owl.]

How did you train it to do that!

[As if on cue, the owl swoops by in front of Annabeth's face, and she glares at it as it flies upward out of sight again.]

I didn't do anything. She's just trying to get my attention.

Then why does she want your attention! Have you fed her since infancy? Can you speak to her?

[look, he thinks having an owl is really cool. that's really all there is to it.]

What? I just got here. I have no idea what she was like in infancy. She found me about an hour ago and has been following me around since. [The owl lands on her shoulder, and Annabeth looks at it, briefly.] Pretty sure it's because she likes me.

It's a she, actually. [A pause.] The latter, I guess. She's been trailing me around all day.
