Hi! It's me again.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the laws here? Not all of them. Just normal stuff. Like-[Hm. Let him think.]-pet laws, I guess? Like is it illegal to own an alligator? And laws about kids too, since people keep bringing that up. And fighting! Is fighting legal? I haven't tried yet because I thought it might be. At least, everything else I usually do seems to be.

[He dims as he says that.]

See, I made a promise awhile ago that I wouldn't break anymore laws but I keep doing it by accident. It's not that I mean to, it's just… [He pauses, considering his words.] My home was a lot easier, I guess. I didn't have as many rules to follow. [Another pause. Quicker, this time.]–Honestly, it's been kind of weird adjusting.

[The feed falls silent save for some muffled thumbing and hissing in the background. When he speaks again he seems markedly cheerier though it's strained. Possibly faked.] Anyway, that's it. I just want to know about laws and crimes and stuff, if there's anyone here who knows about that. It doesn't need to be very in-depth. [He'd actually prefer if it wasn't.] Thanks in advance!

[ Where does he even begin with this... ]

... I think you need a permit for alligators.

What kind of laws about kids?

As long as you're trying to follow the rules, that's what matters! And if anyone gives you a hard time about it, ignore them. [If anyone tries to make Gon feel bad about something she will be so mad.] It's not fair to expect you to know how everything works when your world's that different.

--that's a good idea to ask about the alligator rules, though. We need Roosevelt to be on the level.

[He was not expecting this post at all, and yet he's pleased to see it. Having originally planned a post in the future digging for laws and rules that could get Chrollo jailed, this one was a lot sooner-- and no more suspicious. Coming from Gon, everything is genuine. There's no dark motives behind it, like with him, so even if he had made a sly post himself, Chrollo may have been onto him.

But this? 99% success rate! He just had to keep it a secret from Gon, too, or he'd spill in a horrible lie, and pay attention to the laws himself.]

Good idea, Gon! I wasn't really sure about a lot of things myself, but I've just been winging it. I wonder if we are allowed to fight? We've been training all this time...
glitterateur: sugarplums (that is some fatherly shit)

It depends on what kind of police they are. [She's ignored the police PLENTY of times it's okay.] If they're smart and not trying to put you on a train for crimes against the country then you can probably listen to them.

He won't be! It's just like finding a stray dog or cat and taking it home. Do you think he's ready to learn tricks yet?
gonstop: (what's a hooters)

voice; thx he's been working on it

[personal profile] gonstop 2014-11-21 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? Are you already planning on fighting someone?

[He hopes he doesn't mean Chrollo because they are not ready for Chrollo, Gon.]

Oh, right.

[That's a lot better than any serious fights over Gon disagreeing with morals.]

I know what you mean. I'm still looking around myself, but Jojo's pretty tough, if you want to ask him. I think he could even take your punches!

[He can sense Gon's worry there, but he can't help that his own memories of talking with Jojo about it contradict this in about a thousand different ways.]

I'm pretty sure he's just blaming himself over it, actually...

Did you intend to get an alligator?

[because that's a weird pet. not that giorno is one to complain about odd pets but he's a bit concerned that this kid might get eaten.]

As for the rest...

[who cares do what you want?]

...fighting is normally illegal or at least discouraged by the public in modern societies.

That's just the type of guy he is. Every time I bring that whole thing up to him, he gets all sad and apologetic. But he's like that way all the time, too.

[Ah. Guilt eats at him a little bit for that question, but it's not like he can help but leave out some details. The shared dream was met with a promise that he'd tell no one else so it wouldn't get back to his family, and the spar was met with the same thing.]

Yeah, kind of. He gets confused by technology a lot and I told him I'd help him with it. I sparred with him once, too!

I-it wasn't about being nice or anything, I just felt like it... Anyway, we stuck with hand-to-hand! He did have a really cool ability, though. I'm not going to tell you about it so you can be as surprised as I was if you fight him.

[He's just casually advertising Jojo as a sparring partner without asking him first, no big d.]

But I'll say it reminded me a little of nen.

I don't think they'd know if you did it in private. As long as you didn't destroy anything. Besides, that sounds more like training or sparring.

[All said as Giorno taps his finger against his temple watching the screen, watching the phone wind its way to the bathroom, where...]

[Well that's interesting.]

What a lovely gator. Does he have a name?

And no, I'm not in law enforcement of any kind, I promise.

There are too many laws here! It's not fair. How are we supposed to know every single one, too?

One of my friends has an alligator and he's not in trouble, so I think it's legal!

[BUT PLEASE DON'T ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THIS KID. He grew up on a animal sanctuary in the middle east, he has no clue about urban American laws on animals.]

Alligators aren't normally considered legal pets, no, although you can legally own one if you're able to acquire a permit from the Fish & Wildlife Commission. They probably wouldn't give one over to a kid, but I might be able to--

[ Wait. What is he offering to help with... ]

I could help you make a case, as long as you've got someone that can handle an alligator involved. You know they're dangerous, right, kid?

[ He exhales sharply in a sigh. ]

What sort of fighting?
