Hey, uh. So I know I've been scarce this month. Sorry about that. Been mostly working and sleeping. And Gidget here has no concept of letting people sleep. [Yeah, that's right, cat. Talking about you.] Not to mention thinking about...stuff.

With the leaks and everything, and people freaking out, I kind of had to see where the people here are coming from. They hardly know anything about us. We just showed up on their doorstep without any warning, with these superpowers. So of course they wouldn't trust us. I mean, they're going to believe their government before anything we have to say. That's just normal.

So instead of sitting around and bitching that people don't trust those of us who aren't Registered, why don't we get together and give them a reason to trust us? There's got to be something we can do besides actively going out and fighting crime. Right?

I'm surprised you care so much what people think of you.

Not so much that. I don't actually give a shit what people think of me personally. But when people use fear to generate distrust of people for no reason, that's what pisses me off.

But if it were for a good reason, that would be acceptable to you.

Hey, if we were all running around robbing banks and stealing diamonds, they might have a point.

It's just that using fear effectively is a tactic used well by your people.

What sorts of things were you thinking?

Back home, my dad was... He was kind of in charge of a group that ran a bunch of ethical corporations, humanitarian stuff mostly. Building opportunities for underprivileged kids, that sort of thing. [He'll leave out the part about recruiting those kids into the Assassin Brotherhood.]

Do you think we'd be able to do that?

Hey, there's bound to be someone out there who knows about that sort of thing. I think we've got a couple of lawyers. Maybe they'd know.

It'd take a lot of money.

That's the other problem. Where would we even get the money for that sort of thing? We'd probably be accused of running a scam if we tried to ask people. I don't blame them for being paranoid, though.

Well, it wouldn't be a scam, though, would it? We'd just have to prove that to them.

I guess so, yeah. And we'd prove it by really doing good things.

Back home we had places set up in the League's name, donated money, etc. Orphanages, shelters, that kind of thing.

Yeah, stuff like that. I don't know jack about setting up things like that, though. Or anything about charity work, really. Aside from tossing some spare change into a tub.

Finding people who have the skills to get into that business might be trickier. Maybe ask more specifically on your network post?

Yeah, I'm not exactly very good at this, if you hadn't noticed. I was just putting the idea out there.

It's a good start! Your intentions are there, that can often be enough to get something started.
