[ after several long talks with Kitty, Loki and Kanaya, Thomas finally feels like he's scoured as much of what's available on the network to him as he can, and picked the brains of the people around him who would let him.

Well, figuratively picked their brains. He could literally dig around in their minds, given that his telepathy has gotten better recently, but that's pretty rude, tbh. Only going to do that to people he doesn't like, and even then, only if he thinks he needs to. But either way, he has something that's actually presentable, and in a kind of organization that people outside of him (and Teresa) alone could actually be able to comprehend. So now it's show and tell time. ]

i know there's been a few posts like this already, so it's probably old news to most of you here, but i'm mostly wanting to get my notes double checked. though, if you're new, this might answer some questions you have.

[ he'll be attaching his universe/porter/all things everywhere notes page here, so people can look it over, either to get themselves up to speed on what this place is and what's going on, or for people who've been here longer to review what he has and let him know if something's off. ]

that's all I got so far. i'm mostly looking for stuff on the porter and how the universes and travel between them works. anyone see something i'm missing or something i got wrong? or just got rude commentary you wanna make? minho's not invited. [ he smells. also, this is thomas's mild way of saying 'i want all the information on lachesis and the porter i can possibly acquire tyvm'. if you read between the lines. ] anyway, loki's story about the sudiczki sisters was pretty obviously lacking. i'm gonna be heading out to check if there's anything i can dig up about lana, or the other two. so if anyone needs me, i'll be out of heropa the next few days.

anyone at Xavier's willing to let me borrow notes when i get back? [ he's not very good about caring if he's skipping school tbh. sry, professors. ]

[ this part is done as a video, and Thomas has his Getting Things Done voice on, with his phone propped up against some books while his hand busies a pencil over a spiral folded open in front of him, various travel brochures for Nonah and De Chima spread around his desk. ]

I know everyone hit deadends when they looked into this earlier, but unless it was Emma out there with them, I don't think they worked the telepath angle on it. [ aka Thomas is going to go pry into some peoples' heads and he'd like you to come with him. ] I'm heading to Nonah for a few days, then De Chima after.

It'd be cool to have some of you guys with, if you're not busy. You know. In case I piss some shank off and need to get sprung from the Slammer.

[ doesn't actually sound like a joke. Look, he spent enough time in the Glade's Slammer to know he doesn't have the best luck with this stuff. ]

When it's longer that just "it's pretty respectful to accept it", yeah, that makes it a lecture. Especially when no one asked for it. [ likewise not too pleased, though thomas lacks the tact to be graceful about it. ]

Help with what? [ he is, though, talking to kanaya about it, and does actually want to understand what he's missing about this. but that would be admitting to taking advice when he's feeling butthurt, soooo. ]

That's what I said originally, Thomas. And it will help with understanding everything happening here. It's why you're looking into Lana in the first place.

[ as far as 'everything happening here', he gets that it all links into mythology and patterns and all that that loki said makes sense - he gets that. but even with that he can still think 'power that's perforating dimensions'. he doesn't have to think about it as his friends. just some abstract puzzle to solve within the rules given in what these kinds of beings are capable of.

it's not the same as trying to assign something like that to someone he trusts, who is a real person to him. some abstract concept of overwhelming power. for a lot of reasons, which he doesn't trust most people on this filter to expound about in front of. or really feel like talking about in semi-public at the moment. so there's just a drawn out exhale, and a tired tone. ]

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go meet up with Kanaya. We can talk later. [ not about this. preferably never about this again. ]

[How is that an acknowledgement of what she said at all? Kate doesn't entirely understand how "this is a fact of life in my world" has escalated to this. It leaves a bad taste in her mouth.]

I'd appreciate some acknowledgement over what I'm saying. We're not going to work together very well if this is how easy it is for us to break down into an argument.

[ he's halfway up the stairs in his house, heading to kanaya's office, when he looks down at the phone again, annoyance clear in the expression. it wasn't an acknowledgement of what she said. it was thomas going 'i don't want to have this conversation anymore. ]

I acknowledge that you want me to call Loki a god because you think it's important to investigating Lana and because there's apparently some kind of courtesy in that.

I'm just not going to.

[ this being part of why he didn't say it earlier - because he's sort of to the point of just being rude now. ]

No, it's important to investigating Lana because we believe Lana is, in some way, connected to Lachesis. The three sisters have uncannily similar names to the Fates, and obviously there's the factor of the city names. Whether the tie is there is unclear, but this all comes down to a fate: a being, a very powerful being, that has controlled people for some time. Fates even control the gods, it's part of the whole package deal. That Lachesis can control Loki makes sense. You aren't meant to be able to escape Fate, and but Lachesis somehow undermined her sister when she rescued some of the imPorts and brought them here. Her sister destroyed a world, and possibly an entire universe. That's what we all come from.

The respect is not because he's a god, but because it's who he is. I don't revere Loki, that'd be stupid. [Also, Loki terribly manipulated her and her friends, but Kate wouldn't revere him anyway.]

You being stubborn? You having a weird fit of pride for some reason? You better stuff it. It isn't going to help anyone, least of all yourself. It just makes you look and sound like an ass.

Yeah, I get that. Believe it or not, I actually listen when Loki opens his mouth. Surprisingly enough, figuring out the right terminology for what Lana, her sisters, or Lachesis and hers are, doesn't actually change the facts of what's happened and what other patterns it's similar to. Facts are still facts, and my personal feelings on a catagory doesn't change attributes assigned to it, or my ability to understand what it means. It's a word. [ so why are you so asspained about it, thomas?

it would actually be really helpful to hear out her whole explanation on how she views loki or the concept of a god being someone she's friends with, but he's pushed himself so far into being defensive and cagey at this point. after hearing what he takes in over-sensitivity as a 'get over it' order, thomas is too caught up with being a defiance prone brat. there's a lot of snide comments that come to mind for responses to the latter, and it's incredibly easy to see how much thomas bristles over being called out on being stubborn, and the rest, but most of it he aggressively swallows down. instead, only biting off something off-hand and bitter. ]

If you don't want to help me with the Lana thing, fine. I'll do it myself.

How did this turn into me not helping you? This entire thing is me helping you!
