I'm new and my file mentioned I have telepathic abilities, but mostly it's like white noise in the back of my head. This isn't an emergency of possibly mentally Hulking Out proportions, I'd just really appreciate some advice on quietening it down for the time being.

[ She takes off her glasses and rubs the bridge of her nose. ]

Does Shushenheim deliver? I'm starved. [ After a moment, the in-joke is dismissed by a smile that briefly splits the deadpan. See, Loki? She'll talk to you now. Come hang. ] Never mind.

Mine didn't start out with the noise thing. Something I had to turn on more, but I think that's 'cause of stuff from home, mostly. [ the original telepathy he had came from a chip in his head, and was more difficult in terms of trying to activate than trying to quiet down. anyway. ]

[ Relieved there's another telepath knocking around, she tries to find her feet and offer him what she already knows, hoping to give him the outline of what groundwork she has already laid. ]

I've had a problem like this before, I couldn't shut that off either. It was a little like building a mental dam and funneling information in specific directions, so I'm trying to do the same thing. The problem is, this is almost more invasive because now I'm not just in my own head anymore when it piles up — and that's frightening.

Though frankly, she's stopped in to see if the stranger has learned anything that she herself might be able to use. It isn't consistent, but Riza's spent her time since awakening here being aware of an additional source of information that she can't place a finger on. It takes a certain amount of conscious effort to ignore it. On top of the injuries she'd sustained immediately prior to her arrival, the additional information is growing frustrating at best and overwhelming at worst.]

Telepathy happens in the brain, it boils down to giving and receiving information, so if I can tamper with something in there then I can turn the damned thing on and off. Science never lies. [ Or hardly ever. ] It's like a roadmap. I can read it better than ... than trying to work with anything else for the time being. I can't pretend to throw up a defense, and I don't think I can visualize a barrier that isn't really there.
