I think its time for a change.
[a vague comment at best, she could be referring to a number of different things. after all, there is a lot about herself that Ryuuko wishes she could change... but, old habits die hard, as they say.
speaking of habits, mainly bad ones, running away happens to be one of hers. she's kept to herself the past month or so, cutting herself off from her friends and people she knows in order to stay aloof and avoid having to talk about how she's been feeling. which is predictable behavior for her when she's forced into emotionally trying situations. like losing her most precious friend- no. Senketsu is so much more than that, but there are no proper words to accurately describe what it is he means to her.
or rather what he meant to her.
however, no matter how clouded her mind has been through these past few weeks of silent suffering, one thing is clear: she can't continue to carry on this way. she has to keep moving forward. it's what he would have wanted, right?]
guess im in the market for some new scenery... preferably someplace close to the beach.
if anyone has a room for rent or knows of a place hit me up.

[would you want someone like Nui or Ragyo keeping in contact with you if they were here then, Gama?]

[Rude. Don't even joke like that.]

[the point of leaving was to get away from everyone, duh.]
its not like you need to know where i am 24/7 anyway

im still alive aint i?
besides whats the worst that could happen
[what is mortality when ur infused with life fibers???]

It is called piece of mind, Matoi. Are you so against someone looking out for you? I've only ever looked out for your well being.
[In his- own special way.]
no subject
[she spent so much of her life being the only person she could depend on, so it's still strange to her to accept that there are others willing to look out for her well being, and who actually care about what happens to her.]
what do you want from me a "still breathing" text?

[because let's face it the student council was always pretty good at holding people to impossible standards, so she doesn't feel bad about being a slacker in comparison. sorry not sorry.]
audio
Long time no see. Or hear.
audio.
No kiddin'.
[it does come as a slight surprise though, how similar the circumstances in which she decides to show up.]
You callin' to give me another lecture or do you actually have something relevant to say?
audio.
[ Does everyone from Ryuuko's world have a chip on their shoulder? ]
You and Senketsu moving out together?
audio.
No.
[yet another pause as Ryuuko sucks in a breath of air, holding it and chewing over her choice in words. she knows what she needs to say, but having to speak the words out loud is painful, comparable to someone delivering direct blows to her vitals. her speech seems disconnected from emotion, if only because she wills herself not to show any vulnerability. she'll keep that hurt locked away, it won't do her any good to let it rise to the surface now.]
He's gone. Has been since early December.
[gone as in deported, that is. but it's not as if he can return to the world they left, after all, only death awaits him there. so to Ryuuko he is simply gone.]
audio.
[ She's dumbfounded, honestly. ]
I had no idea. Uzu and Houka didn't say anything about it.
[ She doubts Inumuta would bring it to her attention given his dislike for her, but she's surprised not to hear a word about Senketsu's departure from Sanageyama. ]
audio.
[except there's nothing funny about it at all.]
You probably haven't heard from that loser Sanageyama cause he went and got the boot too.
[she laughs dryly. a sad, bitter sound.]
Don't feel too bad though, that last bit was news to me too. Guess the big guy in charge don't like us too much.
["us" being the kill la crew, whose ranks have significantly decreased in the last few months. one by one they were dropping like flies, there one day, gone the next.]
All that's left of the geek squad is nerd boy and muscles.
[Inumuta and Gamagoori, respectively. and her. obviously. but she doesn't necessarily recognize herself as a part of their team- not in the way those five connected to each other.]
audio.
That's rough. You holding up alright?
audio.
[if you call camping around town like a hobo "holding up alright" then yeah sure.]
M'just peachy.
audio.
I'll take that as a "no".
audio.
[bc honestly why would she care beyond keeping up the appearance of a responsible adult showing concern about the troubled youth. it's not like they're friends or anything akin to that.]
Either way it's not your problem.

Yeah, m'sure that's what he would've wanted, too.

You got any ideas on where to start lookin'?
no subject
You know we're only twenty minutes away from the beach, right? How close do you want to be?
no subject
[someplace directly on the beach is ideal, but she's doubtful she'll be lucky enough to find a place like that- never mind be capable of affording it on her own. seeing as how she doesn't receive any funds from the government.]

[Ryuuko that's not how you say "thank you"....]

Do you have money saved up to move somewhere like that? I'm not kidding about the cost. If you're in school, a part-time job might not cut it.
no subject
[and maybe plumbing is important too yeah.]
I have a job, but it's not full time. If I gotta drop out to take on more work to cover things then that's what I'll do.
[she hasn't been going to class anyway- oops.]

[HER ONLY SKILL IS BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE TBH. and for some crazy reason they don't endorse that sort of thing in school???]
Maybe if I were some normal kid, with a normal life and a normal future- but I'm not. I accepted that a long time ago.
no subject
[ Better to live and focus on the present. ]
If you've got some money saved up, it's not a bad place to start then. I'll take a look around the classified and internet, see what I find?
no subject
Sounds good to me. I guess lemme know if you find anything, I'll keep lookin' on my end too.
[not like she's got much of a choice. acting as Heropa's resident hobo is only fun the first couple of weeks.]
