Here's a guy who clearly, by the first two seconds you'll be witnessing him--loves to put on a show.]

Hey there, superheroes and superladies of all ages, shapes and sizes! Or just fellow imPorts for those who are too shy with the word 'SuperPerson' bein' thrown around! Name's Nagachika!

Nagachika Hideyoshi! And I've got one minor request for anyone watching!!

See, see, I'm just about new here to this place--been around for about a month, sure, but'm certain there's a good handful of ya who've been around longer than me. But see--long as I've been here already, I ain't met a single person who can keep up with me when I really get going.

That's right--running! A race! That's what I want! I'm sure there're those've you out there who got the sweet power of superspeed just like me; so here it is.

I wanna see exactly how good I am at this--and maybe get a few pointers from my fellow speedsters.

...Like. How and where to buy a good set of shoes that won't melt after a day or two of use. If you're not a speedy guy or gal; though, just droppin' me a line to give me a few heads-up or to point me in a direction'd be good, too!

When I asked, some people suggested getting custom shoes made that have friction-resistant materials. I've also taken to running barefoot, though it took time to build up callouses.

[A pause.] I have superspeed myself, and I would enjoy racing, if that's alright with you.

...I was thinkin' real hard about the shoe situation, but I didn't think about clothes catching fire, either. ...Yikes, this speed comes with a lotta blunders, don't it?

[He offers his roommate an almost sheepish grin over the video feed.]

My offset with this runnin' is fast healin', so I don't even know if I CAN build up callouses. Maybe I'm lucky that way? [A small grin only turns that much larger as Rei takes up his offer.]

--Wait--you? You're a speedster too?? You're damn right it's alright with me, Rei-kun?? Who better to keep me on my toes than one'a the fellas I'm rooming with, right??

Ah, yes, I am. [He grins a bit challengingly.] And before I was on the swim team, I was on the track team, so I'm no pushover.

[It's been awhile since he had a footrace. Not since the club race, which had been weeks ago from his perspective even before he came to this alternate universe. His main sport is swimming now, of course, but that doesn't mean he can't enjoy a friendly race.]

Adjusting to my powers has been one of the hardest things about living here. Sometimes I move at superspeed without thinking about it. And yes, it wreaked havoc on my clothing, but I've gotten better at restraining myself as time's gone on. But if you can't build up callouses... hm.
