Hell, everyone- my name is Sabriel, and I seem to be yet another new arrival to this place- and since, despite my repeated requests, there seems to be no way back to the Old Kingdom, I'll have to do my best to adjust to living here. [But she's not happy about it.]

Although I don't understand why they want me to go back to school, since I graduated a few weeks ago- unless they're planning to send me to University? [Which Sabriel wouldn't mind- she liked school, but just repeating what she'd already learned wasn't appealing.]

Also, since I'll be working in a graveyard, I really ought to ask- are the Dead a problem in this world? Because while I arrived here with my bells, my sword seems to be misplaced.

No undead, though with the amount of things that exist here I would not be surprised to see them. I assume your bells and missing sword are for the work you do in suppressing them.

Unfortunately, the Porter apparently has its own whims, so going home is difficult and/or impossible at this point in time. For the moment, it seems to be unable to respond anyway.

Mostly the bells. The sword is just heavily enchanted to hurt them.

At the moment, there don't seem to be any Dead, but- well, I intend to take precautions.

Other than imPorts don't stay dead, there is no present problem with them.

Something like that- they're the seven bells of necromancy, though mine are used to bind and lay to rest- not to raise.

What kind of problem are you asking about the dead being exactly? [ Her first thought is the same kind of problem she had in her own world: they reanimated and became terrible monsters. She reminds herself that not everyone comes from completely messed up places though. ]

I think the biggest problem they have here might be flooding in cemeteries.

Them not staying dead. Although I suppose flooding would prevent that. [Her universe's undead are destroyed by immersion in running water.] No one's reported any problems with them so far.

What kind of problems do your Dead cause? I have not heard of any such issue in this realm before.

They seek to return to Life, and steal life from the living to accomplish it- and even if spirits try to pass on, necromancer hold them back, corrupting and enslaving them.

Thankfully, none of that is a problem here, as far as I know.

Eighteen- and I've been learning how to use one since I was young. [Her school had an interesting curriculum okay.] Believe me, I've been studying swordsmanship and Charter Magic for some time. [Sabriel isn't angry, but she's a little exasperated.]

The school system here appears to be age-related. I've already finished university and yet they still re-enrolled me here. ( And there's no point dropping out because she won't be able to take the bar here until she's 21. This is the worst. )
