That's not really relevant to anything, just that he's at work and he's bored and out of anything useful to occupy his time. He's currently wrapping a gauze bandage around an empty soda can. An art piece, maybe. Or just keeping his hands busy.]

Why bring in someone who, for starters, doesn't have powers to begin with and gives it to them even when they'd rather not have them at all. Not to mention choosing someone who comes from a world where powers like that only exist in comics and cartoons which means they're less inclined to believe any of this business.

Okay, the thing is, the government's not the one who brought us here. It's gonna sound crazy and I ain't even sure I believe it, but people way smarter than me figured it out, so...

Lachesis is a god. Or Fate. Or something. Anyway, she's the one really controlling the Porter, who comes in and what powers they get.

[ The only way Ai would be able to believe anything that was happening was if she had proof of it, either seen with her own eyes or from doing some experiments to confirm it. So far she's been able to accept some of what she's found as fact. However, some things are still a little far-fetched for her. At first anyway.
