Justice is bureaucracy. Policemen file reports. Crime scene integrity must be respected by rote. Attorneys are bound by codes of justice. All of this protects the idea that no matter the accusation that a man must be proven guilty, and ensures that there are no miscarriages of justice; that the innocent are not harmed by the overzealous.

If you have no patience for it, then you should question your own ability to involve yourself in the system you propose.

To your last point I would argue morbid self-justification. They made no such choice. You are deciding for them--and you are deciding subsequently for our entire community.
