This is Major-General Olivier Armstrong. If you can ignore the bevy of Imports wasting our time with their age-changing frivolity, I have an announcement to make.

It's no secret that whatever their other feelings towards us, the natives of this world recognize that we Imports pose a threat to them. For how could we not? We have powers they can scarcely conceive of, let alone match. Even a single Import could outclass a regiment or more of this nation's army.

Therefore, I am hereby announcing the formation of RISE: the Rogue Import Suppression Enforcers. We Imports shall police and judge our own, apprehending those among us who would prey on the most vulnerable of this nation's native population and passing sentence as necessary.

Those among you who wish to lend your aid to the RISE mission are welcome. I await your questions.

Getting the wrong people would kill this initiative before it gets off the ground.

The expectations are that you will follow instructions, work as a team as necessary, and limit collateral damage when apprehending a suspect. If you're not interested in the physical work, I can find room for you somewhere else.

I'm totally down with the part about apprehending criminals, but I'm not so sure about doing the judging and sentencing ourselves. Even if the system they've got in place isn't that great, we shouldn't really be considering ourselves above it.

Military units have courts-martial; this is akin to that. Any judgment will work within the framework of this nation's existing legal system, but we have the right to police our own kind.

Policing I can support. Passing judgement ourselves is completely unacceptable. This world has its own laws and its own systems, its own judges and juries; it's not our place to do anything but deliver wrongdoers to the proper authorities.

I've read extensively on the legal system of this nation, in which a person is entitled to trial before a jury of his peers. His peers, naturally, would be his fellow Imports.

I intend to work within the legal framework and laws of this nation, and to allow final say to come from its civilian courts. But as armies have courts-martial, we must be given the right to police our own.

My name is Minato Arisato and I'd be interested in helping. [He's carefully perused this entire post, including her public conversations with others, before saying anything. So he cuts straight to his skills, voice even and uninflected.] At home, I lead a team responsible for taking out a threat unseeable to everyone else. I have extensive combat experience, including what you would consider magic and healing. So far I've just been responding to threats as they arise here, but... I wouldn't mind something more coordinated.

And I can't promise that the members of my team here would be interested, but if I went on an assignment, you could probably count on them coming with me. [Minato's not dense enough to think they'd stay behind, at this point, which is why he's trying to be cautious about what he gets himself involved in. This seems like just up his alley, though.]
