[ Those familiar with Samara are most likely also familiar with the fact that she rarely shows expression on her face. The Samara that appears on the video does have an expression on her face though, one that's filled with little but sadness. Even her voice is tinged with more emotion than it usually carries. ]
I would say that I did not expect to find myself in this place again, but that would difficult to say when we hold no memories of it when we return to our points of origin. [ However she could easily say she never wished to return to this place again. ] This is exceedingly poor timing. [ More so than the last time she was brought to this place. ] Though I doubt that is a concern that the powers that brought us here have. Our worlds and our commitments mean little in this place. [ Though they have begun to mean little in her world. She falls silent for a few seconds. ]
I hope I did not miss anything of importance during my return. [ A small pause ] Perhaps someone would like to inform me of what has transpired here during my brief absence. I would be most appreciative.

What's the last thing you remember in this place?

[ Hi, Samara. This is what you needed, right?
Still, he's noting there's a whole lot of negativity going on in her words so... ]
Sorry you're back I guess? Sounded like you were busy.
no subject
Yes, busy is one way to describe what I was.

[ He's not even joking here, Samara. With the stuff that goes on here, do you really not expect anything weird to happen? ]
I'm going to guess it's not the good kind of busy.

For whatever it's worth--welcome back.
[ A beat. She's experienced how disorienting it can be to leave and then come back, and she can only imagine it's much more difficult for Samara. After all, Kasumi had, for the most part, only been doing what she'd always been doing at home: stealing things. So, cautiously, she asks, ] How are you feeling?
no subject
There's a pause when she's asked how she's feeling. What a complicated question to have proposed to her. There are so many answers she can give, but ultimately she chooses the easiest. ] Empty. Many things happened when I returned, though I imagine that does not surprise you.
no subject
Yeah, I get that. How much time passed when you were back home?

-- Right, sorry. Fell back on the habit for a minute.
[And that just proves this is THE Samara he talked to last time they spoke. Not like what happened with the Inquisitor. Good to know.]
Far as I know, your commander's still around. Hope that helps.

Samara. You seem troubled. I would welcome you back, but that seems...inappropriate.

Rumor has it time outside of this universe remains still. Or at least our perception of it. So our commitments would seem to not be at risk. At least in theory.
Video
[ She gives a nod. ] I have heard that as well and my return seems to substantiate that theory. Our commitments may not be at risk, but that does not mean we can forget about them.

Sometimes I almost forget that at any moment I could be wisked back into my home universe, and have to deal with what awaits... Sometimes.

I am fine, Shepard. I appreciate your concern but it is unwarranted. [ There's hesitation in her voice though. Very sharp hesitation. ]
