My new New Year's Resolution should really be avoiding all forms of mind control, curses, and the like. I didn't do TOO badly on the last one, so maybe it'd work out fine enough.
That said, I know I'm coming off of the back of a lot of recent stuff, so hopefully putting this out here isn't super classless or anything, but I'm turning 18 on the 17th. I've actually never really had a birthday party before (or at least one that wasn't just me and my mom), so I thought I might like to give it a try for the big one-eight.
Seeing as how I hardly know where to begin here, though, I'm totally open to suggestions on traditions, venues, etc. I want to say I'm not clueless, but I'm kind of clueless. Or at least lacking confidence about my ability to plan parties. I also hope that planning a party for yourself isn't totally tacky.
Oh. AND I'm going to put it out there that I'm accepting applications for a birthday date. So... there you go.
There's also been another influx of people coming in, so HI! I'm Laurie. I'm not very exciting, but I live in Heropa and I work at the mall (at a perfume shop) if anybody wants the lowdown on the current post-holiday deals. That's the best I have to offer right now.

I just thought it might be fun to have it somewhere else and do something fun. And then we wouldn't have to worry about cleaning up after it or anything!

[ Sasha... those are things you like. ]

Actually, most places would probably be noisy. Maybe this is a bad idea after all.

you could center one of the initial activities around prospective mates competing for your affection
unless thats too much like a game show
we can make sure theres no chocolate involved this time at least

I don't think it'd be much of a competition without any contestants, though.

all we need is a photo of you and theyll be clawing at the door

theres a very big difference between seeing someone attractive in the streets or halls and then in an arena where their availability and interest are both known

I still wouldn't say that's a guarantee of anything. Not that it matters much in this totally hypothetical context.

Are they different from regular dates?
Also are you the laurie that knows sasha?
text
And yes. That's me.
text
Oh hi!
Did you let sasha keep the dog?
[ What is introducing yourself? Clearly nothing important. The important part is asking questions he could have easily asked Sasha instead last time he spoke to her. ]

Which dog's that? Sasha works with animals, so they visit now and again. Is there one that's staying?
Re: text
[ Asking like he knows enough people here to set her up. He knows like one person that would immediately agree to go on a date with her, but considering Junseo's dating that person... he'd kind of rather not make his boyfriend's constant cheating even easier for him.
Who else does he even know by name here?
Oh! He could ask Sasha--
Wait...... ]
Uhm.......
A big one that her friend didnt like?

Which friend? Did she collect it from somebody else?

I don't think planning your own party is tacky at all. Who knows what you like better than you do, right?
no subject
Nobody, I guess, but I do need the brain storm to help me along. What I like is pretty lame.

Not that I'm knocking early homework-finishing, mind you.
