Raising children is hardly easy. Many people who shouldn't be parents are, and others who would be can't. Sometimes, families are simply ripped apart, for no reason. I was raised largely by my grandparents, so I know the envy of others, who knew their parents better.

There was mob involvement, in this case. We arrested the men to whom the gentleman owed money, and that was the end of that. But the childless couple who had wanted her--I imagine that they, too, would have made excellent parents.
