[Hello, imPorts! Today, when Saint Walker takes to the network, there is a certain solemnity to his perpetually cheerful features, though that in no way overrides the pleasantness in his voice. It is out of acknowledgment of their current predicament; nothing more.]

Good afternoon. To say that the past few months have been trying would, I think, be something of an understatement. I am unable to make any grandiose statements that alleviate this tension, nor am I able to offer any suggestions on what one may do on the macro scale. What I would like to offer, however, is my personal help to any of you who may be feeling the strain of these trying times.

Where I am from, I often guided those in need of assistance in sorting out complicated feelings, and guided others in the art of meditation. Whether one is facing great problems or small - and I assure you, I have provided my help to people who fit both of these categories - meditation can help with that, whether it is to assist in bringing about even temporary inner peace and calm, or bringing clarity to matters that need addressing.

It's all right, Saint Walker, I have no intention of being reckless. Finding out new information won't do much good if I get killed doing it.

Excellent. You must, however, understand my caution; I should not like anything untoward to happen to you, or to those you hold dear. And this world is not as safe as many wish it to be.

I understand perfectly, Saint Walker. I always keep in mind how my friends and loved ones would feel if anything happened to me, as I trust you do as well.

I assure you I measure every risk carefully before I decide to take it. Some risks are worthy of the danger. Others... others are the product of sheer emotion, and not reason. They must work in tandem.

I feel the same way. Some people think that there's a border between logic and emotion, even that they're opposed to each other. But why would you ignore logic when it comes to something you care about? And if you don't care about something, why bother with reasoning it out?

My point precisely. To run off of pure passion, hotblooded as it is, poses a danger to both you and those around you. And to run off of pure logic... that road only leads to folly.

[He has seen great ruin come about from both roads.]

It is quite like life itself. We always work together if willing to work together.

Like all things, you need to have a balance. But even logic--it's logical to care about people, and to do what you can to help them. Logic and compassion aren't in opposition.

Of course, some people do tend more towards one direction than the other. And then, as you say, working together strengthens both.

My point precisely. It is good, I think, that I am sure that we both know both those who rely too much on their passion, and others on their logic. And you and I lean our own ways too, I'm sure.

[He scrutinizes her for a moment.]

Which do you believe you rely more on, sister?

[Fuu considers that for a moment. She remembers what Clef told her when he granted her magic: your compassion is your source.]

Compassion. I always try to act on that.

I suspect you have the same leaning.

Yes, you are quite correct. [His mouth quirks into a smile.] I have always been guilty of being more reliant on passion than logic, I'm afraid -- something that has been pointed out to me in the past. But I quite like it that way, and I am sure you are very much the same. It makes life a far more colourful place, I think!

[Literally, in a universe where emotions are given colour!]

I'll do my best to help you steer a practical course if your emotions run away with you, Saint Walker. Though I almost want to see that now that you make the claim.

I realize it sounds ludicrous to some around me, but following one's passions may take many forms. I assure you, I have had companions who did do just that.

Then if you wouldn't object, I will do my best to stand in their place on the day that your passions run away with you.
