01 | Video
[Right from the start, this video feed is very shaky. Not wildly, but like someone's pressed 'record' and forgot it. After a few seconds of swinging, a hanging ceiling light comes into focus, only to swing away as the device is once again moved.]
C'mon, stay up! ...Hah, there!
[It stops once again, this time showing a boy's face. It might look familiar to some, even if the eyes are the wrong color, or the design on the headband wrapped around his forehead might even be recognizable.
If not, nothing wrong with that. He looks happy at getting his phone to stay up.]
Hi! This is recording, right? The guy that gave it to me sorta explained it...he said if I asked around the network, I'd find more answers, so here I am. [A pause.]
Um...I'm Lan Hikari and I'm new to the country...or this part of the country, anyway. I have no idea what I'm doing here and could use some help with...anything. Like getting home. Or getting ahold of my mom or dad so they know I'm okay.
Or fixing this. [He retrieves an offscreen object, bringing a second device into the camera's view.] It got busted somehow, and last time I tried to fix it...
[It turned out badly. But he'll just imply that for now, shrugging before ending the video feed.]

That's...confusing. But I guess either way, it's not gonna help us get back...just knowing.
[And he'll just change the subject, in case Megaman decides to go on one of those scientific time travel theory tangents.]
At least we're both here now!
1/2
Yeah. Yeah, we are! We're here, and we're together, and that means we can do anything!
[Ah, it hurts how much he missed Lan up until now. It's been hurting for ages, but right now...it's like he didn't realize just how painful it really was until he suddenly got his brother back.
He adjusts his grip on Lan and gives him a gentle squeeze. He doesn't ever want to stop hugging him if he can
Oh.
Oh.]
no subject
Lan's here. They're together. They're hugging.
It's just clicked..
Suddenly he just buries his face into Lan's shoulder and pulls him into a very strong hug, fingers twisting into the back of his vest, which doesn't particularly help because it just drives home that Lan is here. Here, where Megaman can hug him. Where he can feel his heartbeat and his breathing and how warm he is. Where he can touch him.
If he's making noises that sound suspiciously like a terrible mix between laughs and sobs, or if Lan's shoulder is starting to feel wet, well. That's probably nothing, right?]
no subject
We can! It'll just be a little differ...huh?
[He's suddenly squeezed harder and Megaman's pressed his face into his shoulder--Megaman's crying? This isn't something he's ever had to deal with before, it's always been him that's been upset and he just kind of freezes for a few seconds before also hugging more tightly]
S-stop it... [sniff] you're making me cry too...
no subject
[Trying to put a stop to his tears is much, much harder than he'd like it to be. The fact that Lan's tightening his own hug isn't exactly helping matters; he's hugging Lan, Lan's hugging him back, they can actually touch each other...how long had he wished for something like this? For the chance to hold his brother even just once?]
no subject
[He really doesn't, and Lan hopes he doesn't think he did something wrong. Mostly it's because they're in a public place, and...still not used to Megaman crying, yep.]
I'm not mad, I just...
...Nevermind.
no subject
Megaman's quiet for a little while (not counting the occasional sob). He's trying really, really hard to make himself stop crying, for Lan's sake. Finally he pulls on of his hands away to try to wipe away his tears, shifting so his forehead is pressed into Lan's shoulder.]
...sorry, I just...
[He's interrupted by another hiccupy sob. Ugh, this is awful. It takes him another few moments, and after a few deep breaths he finally blurts out:]
I can touch you.
no subject
[Just going to awkwardly offer pats for you, bro. He can't really imagine what it's been like for Megaman to have been separated from him for a whole year. He wouldn't want them to be separated for that long; it's only been several hours for him, but even that's been too long.]
Too bad Mom and Dad aren't here.
no subject
Megaman just sits quietly for a while, taking deep breaths and trying to calm down.]
Y-yeah. If they were here, th-things would be...
[He chokes down yet another sob. If their parents were here, if he could touch them, hug them, let them hold him and feel that he's okay...it hurts just thinking about it.]
no subject
Better?
[He's just going to. Scrub away the tears that he managed not to keep in with one hand and then attempt to be more cheerful]
But we're here together now, and that's better than nothing!
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, w-we're together. [Don't mind him, just hugging a bit tighter.] We're together, a-and I'm not...I'm not g-gonna let anything change that. N-not ever.
no subject
[How are you even capable of hugging tighter?]
no subject
He hurt his brother. He hurt his baby brother.]
Sorry! [He sounds just as scared and upset as he looks.] I'm sorry, I'm sorry...!
no subject
What the--hey, it's fine! You were just squeezing too tightly is all!
no subject
[Sorry, Lan. He's had enough bad experiences to be incredibly wary about hurting you. Especially with the whole "stronger than he looks" thing he has going on. It might not be super strength, but it's still enough to make moments like this scary for him.
From overjoyed at being able to make physical contact with his brother to terrified of it in just a few minutes - it'd probably be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.]
no subject
[He'll have to remember to...maybe do that less, if Megaman's going to be that sensitive to it.]
Really, I swear I'll be fine.
no subject
Sorry. I just...you're sure?
no subject
[Clearly this means you should ban him from rollerblades.]
no subject
[He has access to a physical body now, he could totally ban rollerblades and make it stick this time. Don't tempt him.
He sighs, then moves just close enough to lean up against Lan. Very tentatively. He's gonna be cautious about physical contact for a while, no matter what.]
...as long as you're sure.
no subject
[Leaning is good and safe, he can deal with that. Hopefully Mega can deal with him moving slightly to grab his info folder off of the nearby table to hold in front of his brother, pointing to his name and assigned housing on the front.]
Hey, you should help me find this address. I think it's in this city, and you've been here longer, you probably know where it is better than me.
no subject
That's where I live!
no subject
[Totally better than living with total strangers. Well, not that that's a horrible thing
depending on the strangers, but the more familiar things the better.]no subject
[Lan you have no idea. Your brother has been the only person there for who knows how long, for the love of god make sure he's taking care of himself.]
Want me to take you there?
no subject
[He doesn't know what Mega would prefer to do.
And he'll try. He'll at least get him to eat properly, maybe.]
no subject
[Yes good. Also Lan should probably be prepared to not have a bed to himself for a while.]
