I have a question. [ She moves the communicator, adjusting it, and, briefly, the tops of some nearby trees become visible. Wherever she is, it's high up. ]

So I know people can get sent back home and brought back. And people get sent back home permanently, right? Does that happen to people who died in their worlds, too? Are they [ they, not we ] gonna get sent back home to be dead, or do they get to stay here?

[ She manages to keep that bright, curious expression on her face throughout, and even smiles before she cuts the feed off. There. ]

I've met some people who are dead in their world. And they have been ported out.

[ he could tell her that it'd make no sense for the Porter to send the people who are dead to some special place, while it sends everyone else back to their worlds to the exact time point where they left of, with no memories at all.

But Kaneki isn't cruel, neither he wants to hurt Brianna. Plus he has a feeling she might be talking about herself or a close friend, and it's just cruel to hear something so blunt like that. ]

That's true, we don't know.
That would be something to eventually find out when the Porter stops being silent.

That's the general belief, people just go back wherever they came from. [But it's also true no one really has a way to know. It's not like they call up Aunt Cleo and have her connect through the various worlds to find out if so-and-so is in the grave back home. Somebody I knew... He was dead back home, and he was here for a while. But there was a couple times the Porter took him away from here then brought him back, and he said he couldn't remember anything about the other side when that happened. It was just like missing time.

So there's always a chance, you know, if they do get sent home. There's always a chance they'll make it back here eventually.

[Chloe hangs up before Breeze can answer. Twenty minutes or so later, she arrives at Breeze's house, peering up at the roof as she tries to figure out how to get up there.]

[ When she hears Chloe approaching, Breeze pokes her head over the side of the roof. She looks pretty comfortable where she is, but seriously, how did she get... up there... ]

You can climb up if you want. Or we can hang out by the pool instead.

I do not think our time here is endless. We all must face what awaits us in our worlds.

I cannot speak for them and I think it tragic to give a fëa such hope. However it is inevitable that we will return. We play important roles in our worlds. Even our deaths can be transformative.
