[There’s background noise for a few seconds before he speaks.]

I’ve been here before. I remember this place.

[He doesn’t sound happy, or mad. More resigned than anything. Kon takes a moment as he thinks. Last time he had been here, things were happening, they’d just saved the kidnapped imPorts from the Russians. Next thing he remembers are the memories of home are so much fresher in his mind, like he just watched a video on his life. There's a fumbling sound before the camera turns on and Kon had a slight frown on his face.]

So I need some major fillin' in on what's been happenin' here since I obviously vanished. Any volunteers? Last thing I remember from here was submarines and warships and happy reunions.

Also, uh, hey. I'm Kon for anyone that doesn't know me or remember.

[So that is... that is definitely Kon. God, he's so young. Tim's not sure whether to laugh (he'd forgotten what that old look of Kon's was like) or feel jealous because man, they had it really good back then, didn't they? It seemed stressful at the time, but in comparison... He'd give up an organ to go back to then if he had any to spare.

Since he already had the ID set to a flying black bird emoji from talking to M'gann, he figures he might as well keep it at that when he starts recording. No point in bringing up an ID he's getting rid of anyway.]

...Kon. [Look at how well he's keeping it together. So well. He is the most Okay and normal teenager you have no idea.] Well, I hear there was a Soviet occupation, but that was before I got here.

[He replies back with the private function on. A little confused about it because he doesn't recognise the ID.

If Kon was asked about things back home, hectic would be a word. Hard would also be something. But even compared to life here, it was good.

Oh Tim, look at the total lack of recognition on his face at seeing you. He really has no idea. But when he finds out, they're gonna have to talk.]

An occupation? Seriously?

[...Oh boy. Please at least be old enough to know Tim at all, Kon. Tim does not believe in any gods, but he would start praying to one if it would at least guarantee that one thing.]

[He's squinting as if it's going to help him and even tilting his head a little before he straightens up and shrugs.]

So what happened in that month? Cause there's always somethin' goin' on.

Well, a bunch of people Ported into different ages. I was thirteen for about a week-and-a-half, not that far off from when I met you. [Well, a while still, but.] I was still training then. Batman didn't have me going out as Robin 'til later.

[DOES THAT RING ANY BELLS?]

[He's quiet for a moment as he works through the information and then his eyes widen slightly.]

Rob? You're all...you're older! [Then he shakes his head.]

Never mind, course you are.

[That mostly gets a wry smile.] That happens if you stay alive long enough.

This is so weird cause I literally just saw you a couple days ago. Last time with Supes wasn't as...uh jarring cause he still looked like him but...dude you better not be taller than me!

[Hah.] I make no promises. How old are you now?

Dunno, I'm guessing two or close to it if we're talkin' literal here.

Okay, so terrible twos. Anything interesting happen lately?

Shame your humour is just as lame. [But there's a smile as he says it.]

I just got my powers back after we watched Cissy in Australia.

[He smiles a little.] I remember. That was fun. [The kind of simple fun it sometimes feels like he hasn't had for a while.

He'd kind of like to contact Cissie at some point when he goes home, but he doesn't really want to drag her into his life after she got hers figured out.]

Yeah. Pretty weird though. Don't think there'll be any games like it again.

So there's two Robin's here now? Dude are we gonna have to do a whole Blue Beetle thing here?

[He snorts loudly and then is quiet for a second before his expression goes flat.]

Oh...you're being serious. So uh, why the change? Another bird come along and kick you outta the nest?

[It's funny in a horrible way, because he has no idea about the little brat.]

[Tim's too good at schooling his expression to react too visibily, but it does blank out for a moment.

He's over that. Right? Robin belonged to Dick originally, so it was his to give away.] Maybe I just grew out of it.

[Max doesn't know whether to be happy or sad, but he's here, and she missed him.]

You've missed... well, a lot.

[And she's kind of glad he did.]

[He is so glad to see her. Also a little upset that she's still here. But he can't help being a little selfish at a familiar person.]

Yay. No one got badly hurt or anything, did they? [Meaning you Max.]

Welcome back, Kon.

[ She honestly didn't expect him to return so soon, so the surprise on her face is hard to mask. ]

[He was surprised when he found himself back here. And more because he remembered the last time so vividly.]

Thanks, I'd say it's good to be back but I don't think it's completely true.. Is it bad that I'm glad to see familiar faces? Cause I totally am.

This place makes it a bit of both.

[ She smiles at him, though. ]

I know... it was awful. I don't doubt the Soviets are going to hit us back twice as hard in the future.

Yup, it was smooth sailings all the way from the first arrow to the medics showing up. Nothing bad at all. I mean it can't be bad if you get gold, right?
