Me? I wouldn't be half the man I am today without love in my life. I don't understand why you must give up one for the other, or why that is wise. Many police officers and soldiers serve others while also allowing themselves to have marriage and family, and they do their jobs just fine. Actually, I would say they might even do their jobs better because they have people they passionately want to protect.
