So even here you have to register, and I suppose they’re able to track you wherever you go too? Really it’s not all that different from home. Though I wonder how many more people would be willing to work for the MWPSB if they allowed us to go out and have as much fun as we want every now and then like this place. It’s so great to actually get to lay out on the beach and get a little sun, feel the sand and the water between your toes. Even if it does seem to get everywhere.

I have to admit though, you'd never hear this much about elections. Sure politics and foreign policy but it's kind of strange to see so many people running for a position, and that the elections seem pretty open. What are they going to be the ambassador of anyways?

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone needed a little extra help so I could earn some extra money on the side since I don't think a blog will pay that much. I’m really good with computers, and if there’s a pharmacy or something around that has an opening I’m a licensed practitioner. I need someone to show me around some too, where all the good places are that can be a little hard to find. I’d be really grateful.

You're right, at least you got to go out every now and then even if was with an inspector. Meanwhile I got stuck in a lab working with computers all day, only an occasional visitor.

They're running to be Ambassadors of two of our imPort cities. What they basically are are dudes that're supposed to let the government know what we want, or what we think needs changing. But, [he tilts his head, in the air of someone giving a confession,] I think they do a lot more of just building training facilities and stuff. It's still pretty important, though.

I've seen some pretty bad things, and really this place seems more like a retreat than a whole new world.

[Shion grins a bit, it was pretty nice compared to thing, granted it had been pretty shocking at first. Especially after talking with Kogami.]

So they're representatives basically, that oversee and approve new facilities. So who picked the candidates? It's not like just anyone can do something like that.

You're wrong about one thing, though; anyone can run. One dude's idea of a speech was to basically yell about being King. [A beat.] Kinda hoping he doesn't win. Technically speaking, if you decided you wanted to run, you probably could; you just wouldn't get a lotta votes.

Okay, but isn't that how all imPorts go here? You don't know anything about anyone except for what they tell you, and it can stay that way for pretty much as long as they want. S'not like you can just google people's pasts here. How would you do it?

Well if they're going to run for something like representative they should be cleared or have some kind of authorization from the people who collected all that data on us. They don't have to disclose everything in the file, but a little about who they are wouldn't hurt anything.

I have limited experience with such things, and none with devices not connected to some sort of tool of death and destruction. [Even the elevators the Allagans built came with a deathtrap option, and fragments from their records suggested they considered fighting for your life against said devices part of their employee wellness program.]
