Knowing what's different doesn't make things any less weird, but it also makes it kind of interesting. [ somebody has a handy reference notebook ] How different we would be if that one event happened in another way... And thinking about how soon I'll be looking at this message and finding it strange, just from the other side of the mirror, so-to-speak.
I think the strangest part is realizing how something that all but killed you could have ended up being for the best, in the end.
((ooc: sorry in advance for slow responses - started a new job and am still adjusting to the schedule!and also FFXIV Heavensward is SO GOOD...))

tiny potatoLalafell on the network.]I believe I know what you mean - though I haven't been affected by whatever magic is changing imPorts so, I can think of several points in my life where that might be the case.
Would it be prying to ask what that event might have been in your life?

It's only prying if you expect me to answer without you doing the same!
Our best and only friend apparently betrayed us for a foreign girl who was using him to get to us. He left us rotting alone in a cage for two years.

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"? I think?
Either way, I like the sound of that one. Maybe the same applies for you. Assuming it's you we're talking about here.

It was better for the world at large, in terms of the war we were fighting.
Has anything changed for you? The only reason we know is because we kept journals.

As for being less trusting, that's not necessarily a bad thing. So you can count that as getting stronger.
I mean, if you wanna be positive about it, I guess.

In some cases it can make you weaker. But I don't think our case was one of them.

You keep saying stuff like 'we'. You got friends from home here, too?
