[Well, what else do you do when you're being kept awake at 2 in the morning? Post to the network anonymously with the hopes of relieving your anxieties, obviously.]
What do you do when you think you were fine with something, but then only weeks or months later discover that perhaps you actually aren't?
On a completely unrelated point: those of you who are dead back home, how do you cope with that knowledge? Feel free to respond anonymously if you wish-- I find it more cathartic, especially where personal questions are concerned.
On another completely unrelated point: I am now taking suggestions for sleeping aids.

I was hoping for a non-addictive solution, but I thank you for the suggestion.

2. Not in the United States.
[Technically not in Britain either, but that never seemed to concern anyone back home.]

The longer I'm here, however, the more I become aware of just how much I haven't done.

It's not so much knowing I'm dead. It's having to look my killer in the eyes now. That's what fucks with me more than dying.

So no. There isn't much fixing to be done there, I'm afraid.
...
I can't imagine having to do that. I think I'd go mad.

What I do when I find out that I'm definitely not OK with something is I talk to someone about it. Usually a professional - a therapist or something.
Also, DON'T use alcohol to get to sleep if someone suggests it. Look: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/sleep-newzzz/201302/alcohol-likely-keep-you-awake-not-help-you-sleep

I wasn't planning on it.
[Just to be difficult, he doesn't specify which point he was referring to.]

[That might perhaps be the first useful answer he's gotten to the first point, so he decides to think about it seriously.]
I thought I was fine with being dead because there were several factors in the event's favour. Mostly owing to saving the world. As deaths go, you know, they don't get much more satisfactory than that.
But you know. I didn't really factor in to my consideration at the time that I might still be lingering around after death in another dimension to see all that I might miss out on. Death's usually rather permanent that way. You're not supposed to stick around to regret it after the fact.
