[ Mint's sitting at a table, filming herself and...obviously a bit huffy, though she's trying to hide said huffyness. There's a teacup in view, just off to the side. ]
Good afternoon. My name is Mint Aizawa and it seems I am a new arrival in this world also. Of course, I have plenty of questions, as to be expected.
Question number one: I've seen some information about 'welcome to this world' but I have not seen any sort of pamphlet about welcome to America. If anyone could answer my questions about America, I would greatly appreciate it. Question number two: who is in charge of furnishing the houses? While I suppose I can live in a house this small, the furnishings are remarkably sub-par. I think these pillows are poly-fill.
[ 'poly-fill' said in the same tone as one would say 'radioactive'. And yeah, Mint hasn't registered the whole "housemates" thing, sorry other residents of De Chima #2 ]
My final question, who do I talk to about these powers we were assigned? The power they gave me was... [ a bad joke, but Mint doesn't really want to explain WHY ] ...well, it's nonsensical!
[ She pauses, takes a sip of the tea, takes a deeep breath, then continues. ]
That shall be all, I suppose. Thank you in advance.

As for the powers, that's the Porter and we can't really change them. Some powers are good, others not so much, but we have to live with them in the end.

[ Video ]
But the main problem here is that the Porter won't listen to anyone.

You must be kidding me.

[ a beat ] Wait, there is a link I can give you- it's like a FAQ for new arrivals. It's slightly out of date, but it'll help.
[ Sasaki will send this link ]

The best part about the houses is you can decorate your room however you like, zura~!
[ though......what is that. ] Ah...are you a dog?
[But he waves it off like it's no big deal. Wouldn't she rather talk about the amazing world of home decor? Don't even get him started on posters.]
[ though really, he's...uh, too cute to be a komainu in Mint's eyes. Congrats Komasan, you're talking to someone who's actually Japanese. ]
So do you like funny lamps, zura?
[And apparently he still wants to talk about decor.]
Oh! Or now they have monge~ stickers you can put on your walls and you can pretend you're in a fish bowl, zura!
[ she'll acquiesce and talk about decor, why not. ]

[She's smiling in a polite manner; it's hard not to smile in an amused one, especially at the second question... which she skips for now.]
I'm not sure you can apply to change your powers. They don't let us back in to see Miss Porter, and I think she's the one who decides that... whatever it may be.

Good afternoon, Hououji-san. I'm terribly sorry to hear that the Porter doesn't seem to be receptive. As for some of my American questions, apparently the school year is starting soon. How exactly does that work in this country?

Well, it usually starts in late August or early September, and it lasts until June, so it's only about nine months long... and that applies to all Americans, not just those of us who were brought here from outside worlds. And you look as though you're about my age? So you would be starting high school, I believe.

However, the schools are very understanding of our position. There's no need to worry overmuch about exams and standards.
