[Oh good, it’s Mabel Pines. This bodes well! What doesn’t bode well is that she’s outside the mess that is Heropa 18, wearing a sweet helmet and with two piles of junk sitting on the front lawn visible in the frame. Piles of junk that might, in a galaxy long ago and far away, be a “pod racer.” Except these definitely have more rockets attached to the sides. Like, an excessive amount of rockets.]

Hey guys! Mabel Pines here-- oh and Dipper! [Who waves distractedly at the camera as he puts the finishing touches on his racer.] We just wanted to remind everybody to save the date. The date being August 31st! ‘Cause it’s our birthday and it’s gonna be a celebonanzapalooza to be remembered. We’ll be celebrating being fourteen-- totally seasoned teenagers!-- in major style. And all of you are invited!

[In the background, the pod racers gently lift off the ground. There's a faint humming noise and a weird glow. This actually looks like it might work?? Dipper gives Mabel a thumbs up and adjusts his helmet, only for one of the racers to make an alarming pinging sound and suddenly list to one side. He smacks something and everything straightens out.]

We really do mean all, even you new people! Every imPort’s a friend of the Pines family, except for that one guy and he knows who he is. Come by, say hi, get cake! Bring presents.

[Dipper nods at Mabel, and the twins snap on some sweet goggles in synch. Several pigs with fire extinguishers in their mouths stand at attention. Mabel makes to turn off the camera before she remembers--]

--and if you’re in Heropa we’re sorry about the noise!

[Mabel gives a jaunty wave and the camera turns off as they hop in their racers. The people of Heropa will get treated to some alarming drag racing noises and some minor explosions in the next few minutes. Everyone else-- hey, you’re invited to a party! If the kids are still alive to host it!]

[After rolling free from the flaming wreckage, Dipper lies on the street next to Mabel. A wheel bounces by.]

Good thing we wore helmets.

Oh man right?!

[Mabel sits up and knocks on her helmet a few times for emphasis.]

Do you think that was maybe... too many rockets?

[Dipper sits up as well, not bothering to hold back a groan.]

Those weren't actually rockets! They're based on hover technology which-- never mind.

Honestly, it was probably the fake engine with the flamethrowers.

[ Look at all these birthdays!

Pan must ruin each and everyone. Pan just smiles and places a hand against his chest. ]

Even me? Oh, you two really shouldn't have. [ It's not a party without pan after all.

But he knows that they won't actually want him there. ]

[As the pigs put out the fire behind him, Dipper is really, really tempted to just ignore this jerk.]

Did you miss the part about that one guy.

Nahh, that couldn't've been it. [There can be no connection between flaming wreckage and things that are explicitly created to throw flames.] I bet they're just not, y'know, good at hitting stuff. I bet when you bumped into me something got knocked loose and that's why the firey ball of failure. We just need more tape!

[ But would that solve anything? Pan could hardly care less what you kids want. ]

I assumed you meant, Tetsuo. I couldn't blame you. He's quite a brute.

[Mabel just glares from under her safety goggles.]

You're him! You're the one guy.

[Frisk doesn't quite catch the message when the twins post tot he network, busy as they are in the backyard practicing their new fire magic. The crash, though, that's hard to miss, and Frisk jumps about a foot in the air with a yelp from the massive ruckus.]

[They don't even think to change back from their fuzzy brown boss monster form before they go tearing out the back gate and down the street, huffing and puffing by the time they reach the site of the wreckage.]

[...holy crap, it's a good thing they're both human.]

Are you okay?!

Man, you kids are growing up fast. Going to be official teenagers. Soon you'll be cool like me.

More tape, an actual way to steer... it's a long list. These weren't really meant to be bumper cars, but they need to be able to take some hits.

[He casts a sad look towards the now foam covered racers.]

They made it seem so easy in the movies.

[Crane's posture is very much rigid as he sits on his couch; hands crossed, fingers locked, knees pressed together. Maybe it's a stuffy academic thing. He makes eye contact and lightly smiles.]

I suppose I can bring you both a gift.

And here I thought you were all about redemption Mabel. Such pretty words for a pretty empty headed girl.

[Mabel gives them a thumbs up from where she's sitting on the pavement, watching a pig extinguish a small fire.]

We're fine! We wore helmets. And we didn't even make it to top speed.

[And then she looks over, and-- whoa now. New face! Familiar voice?]

Mabel actually likes Tetsuo, though. [In spite of all of Dipper's efforts to convince her otherwise.]

[ Is she talking about the pod racers or the party? Both? Probably both. ]

It's way easier to race these things when someone else makes them for you... [Someone who actually knows what they're doing, even.]

What if we used bumper cars? And then attached the hover thingers to those.

We've been teenagers for almost an entire year already! How is 14 the "official" age?

[GUESS WHO IS IN HEROPA. And is running out into the street to see if the things explode.]

[Guess who didn't even watch the whole thing before she went and grabbed a first aid kit that's been very well stocked by this point.

Guess who's just barely outside just in time to see a a wheel roll down past number 16, continuing on a course to God knows where.]

That didn't take long.

You'd actually be quite surprised on that, Dipper.

Very surprised. [ Perhaps it sounds ominous. If it does, good. Let the kid still think he has allies hiding in the dark. ]

Oh nooo I'm going into a tunnel and can't hear you over the sound of how awesome my life is and how awful yours is 'cause you never try to change and be a better person.

[She shakes the camera and makes fake static noises. You don't even rate actual effort, Pan!!]

Gliiiitch we've been official teenagers for a year! Thirteen is the official teen age!

[Frisk lets out a sigh of relief, trotting over closer--but then pauses at Mabel's confusion.]

What do you--

[* We're still a monster, you dummy.]

Oh! Right, um, I'm Frisk! [They laugh awkwardly, tugging at the hem of their shirt.] I, um, got a new power, I guess?

Because for the first year you're just getting use to it. Getting out of the training phase. Now you get to go to fourteen plus movies.
