[ After a couple weeks of sitting and thinking on this one, Junseo's decided to pose an important question to the network. ]

How do people become vampires?

[ A short pause where he remembers not to be so human biased here! ]

Or alien people too?

[ There we go, he feels way more inclusive now, as he stares intently at the screen and waits for endless fountains of knowledge to come to him that will in no way conflict. ]

The one back home that wiped out most of humanity. Most that were older than thirteen were killed by it, a few years ago.

[Besides those that had already been vaccinated or whatever. Maybe. The Hyakuya Sect, the experiments, how that virus was unleashed is still mostly a huge question mark. They're just dealing with the aftermath now. Living each day and fighting the vampires off as best they can.]

[ Junseo gets quiet for a moment, because wow... what are you even supposed to say to that? ]

[ Now he gets the special way of referring to it at least. ]

That's when the bloodsuckers took all of the children to their bases underground so they could 'protect' them and not lose their precious blood supplies.

[The virus itself came suddenly. Yuu himself was underground for so long he never figured if it had a name specifically or what really happened. He's spent some time since with the humans, the military. But even then, there's still some things that were kept from him.

And yeah. This kind of pretty much implies, given Yuu's age, that he was one of said children.]

[ Shifts a little bit uncomfortably, because wow this is a lot less humans and vampires being bros and everything being cool than he wants to hear. What with him now no longer being a human and all.

Super awkward... ]

I'm sorry...

[ He's not sure if this is one of those "I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that" kind of sorries, or more of a "I'm personally sorry for this" even though it wasn't like he went around kidnapping kids for blood. ]

It's just...what happened. Someone had to step in and take care of the younger kids, anyway. Still a work in progress on a lot of things in the aftermath, but we're doing our best.

[Awkward pause....]

But it isn't like you were personally there rounding kids up. You couldn't have known. I don't know your situation, when or how or why you were turned or whatever.

[So. Even if he is a vampire, it could be this was done to save him, or/and against his will, like Mika for all Yuu knows. He shouldn't be quite so quick to judge, right?]

Oh uhm... like a few months ago?

[ So pretty goddamn recently. ]

I still feel kind of bad though, because that sounds like a really shitty thing that happened.

A few months. Yeah, the ones I know were all turned years or centuries ago or whatever. None that recent.

[That is pretty recent. Yeah. Probably equating to around when Yuu first met his squad and found out Mika was alive after all those years or close enough to it.]

It's not something I really talk about a lot. [Or at least. Not in the context of how he himself was involved and affected by it all.]

They get that old??

[ He's only been a vampire for a few months, he hasn't realized that he stopped aging. Give him a break. Though now that he thinks about it he remembers Toby mentioning this before.... ]

Yeah, I don't think I would talk about it either if it were me. It doesn't sound like it's a lot of fun to think about.

Yeah. Some are probably like 1,000 or something even. Or older. I didn't exactly go around asking them and celebrating their birthdays, I dunno.

[Whatever. How old they are doesn't mean anything to Yuu besides usually and obviously factoring in how strong they are. As nobles.]

Do they also look really old?

[ Is he gonna get like grandpa aged and look awkward and tottering forever? ]

No, of course not. They usually get turned when they're younger - say, twenties or thirties? Something like that. So they don't age physically beyond their 'peak' or whatever.

[Yeah. Yuu hasn't really yet stopped to think on how Mika now won't age past sixteen. Because of him.]

Oh... so pretty much all vampires are not that old?

They are old. They just don't look it. Their clothes, fangs and ears kind of give them away though anyway. Since most of them wear the uniform or at least the cloaks.

[Still. It's hardly an issue when it is not like they try to infiltrate the military themselves.]

[ Reaching up to touch his very rounded, human looking ear in confusion. ]

There's a uniform?

For most of them. Yeah. It's a white one with these really high boots and cape.

[Back home though, the vampires had pointed ears. Of course that isn't necessarily the case with other world's versions.]

[ Considers for a brief moment, finally dropping his hand away from his ear. ]

I think probably it'd look weird on me.

Well, the girls seem to wear their own thing. But that's what I saw most of them wearing anyway.

[Just saying how it is from his experience.]

I guess it's ok... since I don't have pointy ears anyway...

[ Can't fit in with the other vampires :'( But they also sounded like jerks, so maybe that's for the best. ]

I guess that would help you blend in, in comparison to the ones I know. Yeah.

Yeah, I think most people don't actually know I'm a vampire until I tell them I am.

I didn't. The eyes, ears and all are different. But I guess that would depend on how people are used to vampires back home or if they even had them.

Yeah. I didn't know I even did before, so I guess the ones from my world are probably pretty different. Maybe?

Depending on the question. But it doesn't seem like what I know about vampires might necessarily apply to the ones from your home, no.
