first ( audio )

[ Consider him curious. Maybe he shouldn't be and maybe he shouldn't even bother. But, sometimes at night—and after a martini or several, shh—certain questions and thoughts rise to the forefront of his mind no matter how much he may wish for them not to.

And, well, since he has some form of an audience here, Magnus figures: why not??

It's just audio for now, his tone is fairly even with just a small touch of amusement. Because if he can't poke fun at certain things, what's the point. Right? Right. ]

There's always quite a lot of discussion over what to do with time. Complaints about wishing to have more or wishing it would pass faster. So, I'm curious. What would you do if you had an infinite amount of time?

I'd go absolutely everywhere if I really did have all the time in the world.

[Jonathan laughs good-naturedly. it's selfish, but if he had the opportunity to truly see the entire globe he thinks that it would be more wasteful not to make use of all that potential. there was no need to limit himself for propriety, just as he always found a way to pile sugar into his tea.]

But I think that I'd spend a great deal of time in South America and Mexico first. Mesoamerican history was my special interest during university, and it would be amazing to see all the progress that's been made in the field.

I've actually been fortunate enough to have just that opportunity, as a matter of fact! My great-grandson and I spent a few weeks there several months ago; it was absolutely beautiful.

As much as we could without killing ourselves.

[well, killing Josuke. Jonathan always seems to have a boundless well of energy - especially when his particular interests are involved.]

We took in as many museums as Josuke could stand, hiked up to Machu Picchu, spent some time at the seashore, ate ourselves silly...it was really a marvelous trip.

[not the least of which because he spent it with family. it could have been any place on earth, but if Josuke were his companion he would have still rated it the most wonderful vacation of his life.]

I think that would depend on what your own world was like. People have returned to their home countries here to find entire cities absent with no rhyme or reason.

The worst that can really happen is you'll be twice as well-traveled as when you began.

[and it would be interesting, he thinks, to see something familiar on another path. little what-ifs come to fruition, a glimpse at what might had been if the dice of fate had fallen just a bit to the left.]

Not unless you forget to bring home souvenirs, no.

[nothing is worse than leaving a new country without a postcard for friends, after all.]
