☄ 002 | Video; ID reads "Gran"
[It's been a little over two months since Gran's been in this place. Maybe two exactly if we're getting technical. He's settled in, he's gotten himself signed up for school, he's started working at his jo-
Well. Sort of started working at his job. With his school and sports schedule, he's had to currently work around it in a lot of ways, and he really started emphasizing the 'part' in part-time. It didn't leave much room for training, to be honest. And the most he could really show up for was signing papers and watching videos on how to behave around kids.
He lived with kids, too. So this wasn't exactly new to him.
But now here comes the fun part. The video opens to him sitting on the steps to King Pong, paddle in hand as he idly taps it against his palm.]
So. I'm...supposed to be a Ping-Pong instructor here. I don't mind it, the kids are nice, and the staff is kind to me. But I was just wondering...
[The next part of this comes somewhat sheepishly, a hand running through his bright red hair and pulling it out of his eyes for just a moment, keeping it's shape almost immediately until he fixes it.]
...Does anyone know how to play Ping-Pong?
[He is vastly under-qualified.]

You've been here two months, though.

[He can almost feel that gaze weighing down on him]
...
I assumed training to play would be part of the job.
[It sadly wasn't.]

If you intend on staying there, it's probably best if you learn. I'm sure there're books on it.
[And she has a handy dandy De Chima Public Library card that she can use for the both of them now.]

[He felt pretty oddly placed, he had to admit. But they were generous enough to give them a steady income as it was, and he wasn't about to turn down that considering their past.]
Maybe I can find something to practice on at a recreational center...

I'll pick up some books for you today. And I only have work when there are games, if you have trouble finding something. [or someone]
no subject
It's a two person game, after all.
I'm short one player, right now. [He may not pick up on many clues, but that was one of them.]

Should I get a paddle?
no subject
[Hiroto, you could charm even the most stonefaced adults into whatever you want.]
no subject
No need to get paddles, then.
[She knows it'll work.]
I'll get the books. When are you coming home today?

[And here's the sad confession.]
I've never played tennis either. I'm sorry.
I've only played soccer.
video;
The question on everyone's mind tbh: why aren't you coaching soccer then??? government pls.]
Well! That's okay, it's really easy. [THUMBS UP] Basically you just gotta hit it back and forth over the little net. You get a point when the other person misses or knocks it away from the table.
Think like, the table is the soccer field and everywhere outside is the goal and you're both the goalie and the, uhh....kicking...guy.
[You Tried, Kotetsu. you tried so hard.]
video;
Ah...so it's two goalies trying to score with a paddle. And the net is like a boundary line?
[Hold on, Kotetsu, he may or may not be actually getting out a notepad to write this down.]
Odd, usually the net is the goal in soccer.

Really? I'd appreciate it...
Ah, but...
My real instructing starts Monday--[No pressure]--so when would work for you?
video;
video;
[Well, almost.]
Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't properly introduce myself. I'm Gran.

I go to school and have soccer practice, so I only work on the off days. And it's mostly been training in regards to safety and workplace protocol.
Filling out forms for payment. Things like that.
no subject
[ well at least he isn't teaching them soccer................. ]

[Thankfully the place doesn't rely on one part-time employee.]
no subject
Except apparently not. Then again, Gran is a child, so. ]
Well, do you really want to teach then? Shouldn't you be a student, instead?
no subject
I am a student.
And I don't mind the job at all. They pay me nicely, even for just filling out forms and watching videos. I just...don't know how to play the game they want me to teach.
--But, I'm willing to learn.
no subject
In any case, he never played anything. ever. ]
I think it'd be for the best to probably ask one of the other teachers who work with you. Or maybe read on it, that's what i do when I need to learn something new.
no subject
I guess I could, but I figured I'd try and reach out to someone who isn't a coworker first.
[He's...a little afraid of adult disappointment. RIP his life.]
My--[What did he even call her? The nuance of family was so much different to Aliea Academy...] Ulvida is picking me up a book with her library card. So I'm sure that'll be something to go over this weekend.
