[The feed clicks on to show a girl who basically looks on the edge of a panic attack. She's sitting outside on a bench, a big ol' fluffy cat clutched desperately in her arms. Almost like a security blanket.]

Um. Hello...

[For a moment, it seems like the girl on screen is just going to leave that there. To shrink back and end the feed and maybe even go as far as to throw the device as far away as possible, just to make sure it doesn't, you know, bite her. Or something.

Eventually, though, the cat in Fluttershy's arms gives a little encouraging mew, and she's able to take a breath and shakily - quietly - continue speaking.]

I'm, um, my name's Fluttershy. And I-- [Her voice breaks off in a squeak, but she only pauses for a second this time before bravely pushing forward.] I'm-- I'm working as an auctioneer. And, um, I was just wondering...

Since it's... oh, since the holidays are coming up, I was hoping to, um, h-have a charity auction. You see... [Here, she glances down at the cat in her arms, and a gentle smile spreads across her face.] there are just so, so many sweet animals that need homes for the holidays. O-Or even beyond that, if you and your animal friends end up getting along. So I was hoping it might be possible to have a charity auction for some of the rescue groups.

A, um, silent auction. [Her voice trails off in a whisper, almost drowned out by the delighted purr from the cat in her arms.] T-Thank you.

[And the feed cuts out with her voice.]

Oh! Um, what are you going to offer for auction? [ He's not clear on the idea of a silent auction (don't you need to speak to bid?) but he knows what auctions are! He's even been to a few. ] I'll definitely come, though! And if you need any help, I can do that too!

[ He just wants to be helpful, man. ]

[Strangely enough, she seems much less shy answering this question.]

Well, I don't have much, but some of my friends have been working very hard on some crafts! [Her arms unwind from their near death grip on the cat, and she reaches out of frame to pick up a rather pretty little birds nest.]

A few birds in the park were sweet enough to make this with me. They don't want any of the other animals being lonely, after all.

[But more importantly:]

[THAT IS THE BIGGEST, MOST EXCITED GASP being let out, Fluttershy's hands just clapping to her mouth as her eyes go wide.]

Oh! You're that cute little puppy! [The cat lets out a disgruntled noise at that.]

Oh, um. An auction is when everypony gets together and pays whatever they want for the items on sale.

I-I was hoping everypo-- [wait] every... one-- would be willing to buy some things my animal friends made. [Or, you know, just take something in return for giving a baby animal a home for the holidays. Instead of the horribly cold and lonely places she'd been seeing.]

[Oh! She knows him...? That's strange, he would've remembered someone who spoke in horse words. Incidentally, she has a lot of the same colors as this horse he walked into...

It must be a popular color scheme.]

Can't you just give the money to the animals, zura?

[Don't you make fun of her magical pony color scheme!!! Just because she doesn't have sparkles or a two toned mane doesn't mean she's common!!!!!!!

Still, she has to raise a hand to her mouth again, covering up the giggles threatening to burst out.]

Oh no, the money isn't going towards the wild animals, they have homes and families all their own! This is for the poor puppies and kitties that'd otherwise be spending the holidays in a lonely room.

M-MONGE!!

[What the heck. That's like...the opposite of Christmas.]

That's not fair! Who...who's gonna make them dinner, zura?!

I am! [Fluttershy, however, is 100% undeterred!] The money is going to the kind pon-- people that look after all the cute animals while they're waiting for their homes, so they can get new beds and toys and blankets.

I'm very used to making meals for all my animal friends, and I met a few very kind rodents who are going to help me find the best berries and plants outside of town!

[Berries and plants are all well and good, but Komasan can't help but feel as though dogs and cats might want a little something...more.]

Then I will buy the rest of the groceries, zura!

[He seems...fairly determined.]

If they're gonna be lonely on Christmas, then they can at least have a nice dinner, zura!

[Don't you dare ask the pony to cook meat, okay. Carnivores don't exist in Equestria. Bears subsist completely off berries and no one can tell her otherwise >:( ]

Oh! Thank you so, so much. I'm sure they'll be so happy to see someone so adorable helping them out.

[Look... she has a problem... and that problem is turning into a puddle of happy mush in the face of cute creatures.]

[That's the opposite of a problem.]

A-Ah...I'd still do it...e-even if I wasn't adorable, z-zura...

[She claps her hands in front of her mouth, giggling.]

And that's just one of the reasons why you're such an adorable puppy.

Actually, no, he takes that back. He knows very well that he can't.]

It does when you're a cute little puppy! [Even if you still kind of look like a cat, but hey. Semantics.]

Oh, no, I should be the one thanking you! I was feeling a little overwhelmed with everything until you offered to help.

[Komasan nearly loses it, flailing on screen for a good few minutes, his paws covering most of his face.

He probably would've passed out by now or something if he didn't suddenly stop out of concern.]

...I-Is there a lot, zura?

And what would this silent auction be auctioning?

[You'd think by now Fluttershy wouldn't jump every time a new voice chimes in. Alas, it is not so.]

Oh! Um, a few sparrows I met were kind enough to make these with me. [She shyly holds up the decorated little nest.] All the animals here are so sweet, they were oh so ready to lend a wing.

That sounds like an absolutely grand idea, Missy Fluttershy. Do you already have somewhere to host the auction?

[he looks like he could bench press the entire planet with one arm, but Jonathan's expression and words are nothing but gentle. animals are near and dear to his heart, so an event like this is right up his alley.]

[The first thing Fluttershy thinks, is Bulk Biceps. The second thing she thinks is oh my pony this person could break her in half.]

O-Oh... um... I was just... I was thinking we could maybe just use the park...?

[From how her voice is trailing off... no. No, she doesn't. She honestly hadn't expected to get this far.]

That sounds quite lovely. But if you'd care to have a few options at your disposal, I'd be honored to offer either of my clubs for the event. It may be nice to have a place that won't be rained out.

[and he'd certainly be more than happy to give a larger venue to a worthy cause like this. none of the employees would mind for a single evening, he's certain.]

I-- That, um... [She's so! Flustered! But this strange huge human is being so very nice, that she can't help but start to relax a little bit.] That would be very nice, thank you. I um, forgot that your weather isn't controlled, here.

[Back home, all she would have to do is ask Rainbow Dash to make sure all the rain clouds were elsewhere for a few hours.]

You, um, have a club?

It would be a sight easier to get things done if it were.

[he chuckles warmly, perfectly content to allow Fluttershy as much time as she needs to get her thoughts out. it's simple politeness, after all.]

It's not quite mine, although it's less complicated to tell people otherwise. I helped a dear friend of mine start the first club, and when she was sent back home she left it in my care. She was more adept at this sort of thing, but I'm doing my best.

[this is Jonathan understatement at its finest - he was always the co-owner of Krakatoa (and later the Iceberg Lounge), even when Ramir was still living in this world. even though he helped build it from the ground up as much as she did, it doesn't feel right to take that sort of credit.]

[Oh dear, this poor girl. Fuu has to admire that she's organizing an event in spite of her obvious timidity.]

What a lovely idea, Miss Fluttershy! It's kind of you to think of all the animals that don't have families at this time of year. I'd be happy to participate.

[Fluttershy will do anything for animals!! Even if she feels like she's about to shake apart from nerves right now...]

Y-You would? [Look at her perk up!] Oh, they'll be so, so happy to have somepony else helping out!

I'm sure they will! [she smiles.] It sounds like you and animals have a good understanding.

Oh, we do! They're some of my very best friends, even back home! [Look at her! It's like the shyness and nerves never even existed.] My house is always filled with all sorts of critters. Birds from all over come to nest in the branches, bunnies and moles and badgers and mice and even a few cute families of snakes have burrows all around the roots. Oh, and when it's not winter, Mr. Bear likes coming over for tea every Wednesday!

[omg, it's so cute. and Fuu likes that snakes are included.]

Goodness, that's quite a social schedule! You must be an excellent hostess for all of them. I think Mr. Alligator might be more likely to visit than Mr. Bear if you're also in Heropa, but somehow I think you'll be able to accommodate him just as well.

[well. hopefully.]

[Oh, it's the pony!]

A lot of imPorts here have a ton of fans, you know. Maybe you can ask them if they'd be willing to donate some of their stuff, jack up the value?

[For a moment, Fluttershy looks almost excited about that idea! But then, she remembers herself.]

I... I don't know if I can do that. I don't want to bother anypony.

Y-You would? Oh, um, I don't want to have any one [don't say pony, Fluttershy, c'mon] person doing all the work... but I'd be very thankful for some... help.

[She takes a deep breath, trying to get at least a little of her bravery back!]

Are... are there a lot of famous people here?

Most of us are famous just 'cause we're imPorts. I managed to stay outta the spotlight, mostly, but a lot of people haven't -- including a lot of my friends who can be pretty darn charitable. And the ones who aren't, I can convince. people would probably even like something of yours, you know.
