Look, you have to go back in the- No, no, not that way-

[He's trying to urge the deer back towards the woods, but it just wants to come with him. Though its injuries seem extensive, it isn't in any apparent pain, frolicking around his legs in the high grass.]

I can't take you home, kiddo. I don't even have a home, yet. Just- Stop that!

[If it weren't all for the blood, this would be one of the cutest things to ever happen.]

[The sound startles him - much like a deer - and in response, he trips over his own feet and plants himself right in the grass. The deer uses the opportunity to lick his face, as George looks over at the camera.]

I'm not an animal person.

It's fine, I checked its vitals.

[And there were none. He hasn't let himself think too hard about this yet - he just wants the deer to go back in the woods so he can go find his apartment and sleep.

[Something in his eyes goes a bit buggy, a bit nervous.]

I don't think that's... necessary. The deer's fine.

[The fawn looks at the camera, seeming to agree.]

And the blood isn't yours?

[ Guess who probably didn't even realize George was gone for an extended period of time, and probably just assumed that he was really quiet for a bit. ]

Does it need bandages though?

This blood's mine, but I'm okay. And that blood is its, but...

I think it's a zombie deer.

No, it'll be fine, I looked it over.

[Okay, not the wisest lie. But he does have a lot of blood on him, on his clothes and in his hair.

Oddly enough, there's not an injury in sight.]

[ He names somewhere near where he is because he can see the road! ]

I didn't kill it! [With renewed vigor, he sits up.] It got hit by a car, and I just... walked past it. I don't know.

[What he means: "Yes, I am in De Chima."]

And "life" isn't the right word - it doesn't have a heartbeat. That's why I didn't take it to the vet.

[ That is like the opposite of the thing you say to someone if you want them to not worry. ]

Look, I've been back for two hours, I'm covered in blood, a dead deer just started following me around, and I'm missing a shoe. I haven't exactly been in a great place to figure out what to do about a zombie.

[A zombie who has now just settled down next to him, and begun to sniff his ruined shirt. He rubs his face, sighing.]

[puppydoctor]

[He scrambles to... fix something? Make this look better? He at least tries to get some of the blood off of his face.]

I didn't mean to.

[puppydoctor]

[The problem is, Sarah says "mate". And with the communicator nestled in the tall grass, in the early light of morning, George doesn't notice anything... different.]

Sarah. [He says it back in a matching tone, but his teasing is gentle.] I've got it under control.
