Well... it was sweet of you to consider my feelings, anyway. [ And he means that. Kidou's a good kid. ] I'm not so bitter that I can't be happy for someone else yet, you know! I'm glad you guys got another one of your friends here. They settle in okay?

[tacticianing]

I'm not sure. My friend hasn't said much about it.

Yeah, maybe. [AKA: awkwardly try to figure out how.] His name is Genda, by the way. I think that's all the news I have.

[There's no disguising that flash of pure hope in Kidou's face, even with his eyes hidden. Those eyebrows are expressive. In the next moment, it's gone, replaced by a far less telltale smirk.]

Yeah. That'd be something, wouldn't it?

Bet you could make it happen. Between the people from your world, other imPorts who can keep up with you, even a few of the meta-natives... you could at least give it a shot, hey?

[tacticianing]

[He's not the one who should do this. He's not the one who feels he could, for some reason.]

[tacticianing]

[Kidou is silent for a bit, eyebrows drawn down further.]

I can't. Better recruiters than me have tried and failed.

[khajidont]

Failed at...?

[tacticianing]

Endou - [Kidou pauses, then starts again.] A friend of mine with skill at recruiting who used to be here tried to assemble such a team. It didn't happen.

[And Endou was the one who always managed to drag people to him. But he couldn't. It said so many things about soccer here that Kidou was trying hard to not think about.]

[khajidont]

He wasn't here for as long as you, though, right?

[tacticianing]

[Kidou nods.]

[khajidont]

Then I don't see why you wouldn't do better. Getting people on your team, no matter what the team is, means that you have to know people in the first place.

[tacticianing]

I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure. I haven't met many I feel would be interested.

[khajidont]

Hey, it's not like you gotta do it. Just something to think about, is all. Believe in yourself a little more!

[tacticianing]

... thank you.

[And he actually means that. Despite his defeatist attitude towards this by now, it is something Kidou genuinely wants to have happen. It means a lot to him that there's someone here who thinks he could be the one to get it to happen.]
