[ Good evening, Mask or Menace! Jaime's back, and while he doesn't look any older, he certainly looks tired and a little sour to boot, like someone just fed him a nintendo switch cartridge real bitter pill. It was a long month. ]
So, um... hey! I'm back. That was definitely the longest I've been ported out for, but I gotta ask: what happened while I was gone? Because I got back, and all of a sudden, like, half of the people I know are gone. Dick's gone, Tadashi's gone again, Fuu's gone, Sarissa's gone, so's my Mom...
Was this just the Porter, or what?
[ It probably is - people tend to leave in waves - but it's left him feeling a little shellshocked, and it's worth searching for answers at the very least. He raises a hand to rub at the back of his neck, playing a little with the hair at the nape. ]
Um, anyway. Good to see you guys who are still here. And for all the newbies, I'm Jaime. Nice to meet you.

Do you need anything, Jaime?

Nah. I'm good. Thanks for asking, though, Ken. I just gotta get all my stuff straight, make sure I still got a job waiting for me. I got no clue why they still keep us on when we're disappearing every five days.

because we are heroes. And good for business, too. [ they are probably very proud to say they have an import as their employee ]

They have a convention just for us. [ it's creepy ]

People still think so. But there's less of them now. [ His smile's a little wry as he shrugs. ] And I can see why they think so too.

The government knows how to sell us. Honestly, we do a lot of bad, but I know some do good. [ and some don't do anything at all ] I'm not sure what I'd think, if I were in their shoes.

Only immigrants have a, uh, much lower percentage of serial killers. Just as a general rule.

I think it weights a lot. Or it should - everyone is so happy with us lately that no one remembers Lucifer trying to open a portal to Hell.
[ Video ]
Probably helps that the government pushes us as these big heroes, even when we're not. If they ever changed their minds about us, I'm pretty sure the people's minds would flip on us pretty quick, too.

One problem at a time, though. Let's hope this issue doesn't became one. [ a problem, that is ]
